Enjoy.

Green could remember the first time, it was fairly early on his journey. Mew stood before him, it's brilliant glow had caught his attention in the woods near Palette Town. His Charmander was no match, he had figured that out after the first attack, such a fantastic Pokemon was not to be taken lightly.

He called his Pokemon back as Mew drifted away.

"What d'you think you're doing?! You almost had the thing, you know?" a boy in a red cap burst from the bushes in front of Green. This guy was an idiot if he thought he could take Mew.

"My turn then, Poliwhirl go!" a small Poliwhirl appeared, it was obviously way to weak to be challenging anything of Mew's level. Green sighed, sitting back and watching as the trainer's Pokemon was thrown backwards with the force of Mew's psychic powers.

People like this kid annoyed Green, "Know your limitations, or you'll only beat yourself." he sneered at him.

He could hear a faint voice under the boy's breath, "I actually lost..."

At that moment, he felt something warm tinge in his heart, and for a moment he thought that he might've felt what people knew as "The Lover's Light". But he brushed it off, there was no way he was even going to see this guy again anyway, let alone have any connections with him.

The Lover's Light was a thing that Green had heard his sister Daisy drone on about for a better part of his entire life. She fantasized about the subject, and it was no wonder that every time Green felt something in his chest, he was a little paranoid.

Whenever you fell in love with who you were destined to, a soft light would glow from your chest, even if you yourself weren't aware that you were falling in love. Green didn't like any of that stuff, he didn't need anyone, let alone someone who was "destined" to hold him back.

He scoffed at the thought and left the forest.

Green was really surprised when they met again. A Poliwhirl shuffled out of the bushes, it looked pretty ready for battle. Without thinking Green ordered Charmander to attack, "Ember." and as expected, it took it down in one shot.

"What? Did you do this to Poliwhirl?!" A trainer rushed over to his Poliwhirl, Green recognized him as the same trainer from the other day.

"I thought it was a wild Pokemon when I ordered Charmander to attack, don't take it personally." he smirked at the lowly trainer, if his Pokemon fainted that easily from an attack like Ember, he had a long way to go. Green was leagues ahead of him.

He hated people like this guy who didn't know when to quit, he knew he was leagues below Green, but he still persisted, Green didn't know why.

"You'll pay!" the boy yelled lunging at him, Green caught his fist in his own, stopping it just before it hit his face. Did this trainer not see how much better he was? Did he think they were on the same level?

"Nonsense." Green said, when he heard a rustling in the bushes, "There you are! I've been looking for you but you tested my patience." the Kangaskhan he had been looking for appeared, "Charmander, attack!" his small lizard blew a burst of flames.

Green threw a Pokeball at the creature, but it swatted it away with a mighty swing of its arm, it baffled Green, "My attacks didn't work? Charmander continue!"

"Wait stop! Poliwhirl!" the trainer's Pokemon shot water at Green's Charmander, effectively knocking it out of the way. What was this kid doing? He almost had it!
