(Warning: Angst)

Sun was the most radiant person she had ever met. With a name like that how could she not make that comparison though? But it wasnt just his name, everything about him was just happy and glowing. His huge smile, his warm heart. Moon loved that about him, he was always smiling. From the moment they'd met as children, to the moment they'd both received their Pokemon. Even now, in a moment like this, he was wearing a huge sparkling grin.

Tears ran down Moon's face as she asked herself why it had to happen like this. She remembered back to when Sun had first come across the small green creature in the woods. It looked lost and vulnerable so, being the kind person he was, Sun had decided to take it in. Little did they know is was a key component to creating the beast-like Pokémon Zygarde.

Kukui had told them that the pieces were scattered all over the Alola reigon, and Sun made it his duty to try and locate them all.

Those were relaxing times, Moon thought back. Back in times of trials and laughter as they traveled with Hau. She wanted to go back to those simpler times. She thought back to when she had recieved Popplio from the professor. Sun had gotten Litten, while Hau had chosen Rowlett.

Then she thought about when she had first realized how much Sun really meant to her. It was a star filled night and they sat in one of the highest branches of a tree on the island of the grass trial. He spoke of what this journey meant to him, and how his experiences made him feel. She came to feel that a world without Sun was hardly a world she wanted to live in.

"Sun... What's going on?" her voice squeaked out as she took a step closer. The fragments of Zygarde shimmered behind him under the moonlight, as he turned around to face her. "I have to go now." he replied simply. It was strange to hear him talk in such a serious manner. It's not like he was never serious, but it was a rare sight to behold.

"What do you mean? Y-you'll be back right?" Moon found it hard to contain herself. Sun looked down, a sad smile played on his lips. Moon gasped. This wasn't his normal smile. All the happiness and life had drained out of his expression. This wasn't Sun. This wasn't happening. "I-I don't understand." she ended. Sun lifted his head wearing a grin, for her.

If he was her metaphorical Sun, vice versa was also just as true. She was like the moon to him. She was calm and collected with the faintest smile that made his heart leap. Her soft giggles were like music to him. He didn't know when it started but he felt like he'd had feelings for Moon forever.

She was the only one who listened to him. She let him ramble on about his experiences, and she actually enjoyed it. His outgoing personality often led him to carry on the conversation by himself, but Moon quietly listened to every detail, and he loved that about her. He loved everything about her.

Which is why this moment shattered his heart.

He didn't want to see her so sad, but he had to go. "Zygarde needs me. Somethings coming, Moon. Something we can't even fathom. Zygarde can stop it though, he needs to stop it. I want you to be able to live safe and happy. All the pieces for Zygarde are here, but what Kukui didn't know was that the pieces need... an adhesive, if you will." he paused, eyeing Moon.

"What do you mean?" she finally spoke, her voice void of emotion. He didn't like this side of her, this sorrow filled, heartbreaking side. He choked out the next couple words, fighting back the lump in his thoat, "O ye pure of heart bind themselves to the true victor through and though. When pieces brought together by thy cleanest of souls, then and only then can the beast queller rise." he paused, taking a moment before continuing, "It was a poem I found in an old ruin. Zygarde needs the soul from a person that's pure of heart to bind it's pieces together. In order for the world- for you -to be safe, this is something I have to do." he finished.

Moon strode forward, stopping just in front of Sun, then she reached out hesitantly and grabbed his hands, holding them tight. She stayed like that for a minute, staring at his hands while he tried to read the emotions playing through her face. Then her hands traveled up his arms to rest on his cheeks.

Her eyes were soft, a solemn smile danced in her features. His eyes were confused as they stared back. Their for heads touched before Moon leaned in to place a sweet kiss on his lips, although she moved back before Sun could respond. Their foreheads rested against each other. "A world without you... is no world at all." she whispered to him, before she threw herself towards the pieces of Zygarde, and a blinding light followed.

The next thing he knew, Sun was thrown to the ground from the force. He sat up in shock still trying to comprehend what was going on. He saw Moon on her knees in front him. Completely ignoring the 100% Zygarde behind her, he rushed forward and clutched her shoulders pulling her close to him. "Moon. Hey, Moon!" he shook her. Her eyes were lifeless and blankly staring at something undefined. "Come on Moon! Moon! Wake up!" tears fell from from Sun's face as he hugged her small frame closer to him.

He didn't want it to be this way. He sobbed into her neck, before letting out an anguished cry.

Their meeting was like an eclipse, Sun meeting Moon for a brief span of years, only to be torn away from each other for an expanse longer than forever. The Sun had lost its beautiful Moon.

(A/N: should I write more for this ship? Some non-angst too of course XD)
