Okay so this is the third and final installment of the Felis and Canid oneshot that I wrote. It's very short, but I feel it gets the end result across, sorry if it's not the best, I'm a little pressed for time tbh

Silver kept running, Gold on his back, he couldn't stop now, they'd come too far. Gold had fallen asleep again, and rested against his back peacefully as he ran.

His legs screamed at him to stop, but his heart told him to keep going. It was painful now, but they were headed to a bright future together.

His knees buckled under him and he felt himself begin to fall. He was caught, inches before he hit the ground, but a strong hand. He looked up to find the blue haired girl from earlier.

"I don't know what his majesty has been doing with a Canid," she sneered, before her look softened with a sigh, "but it seems I can trust you."

Turns out her name was Crystal and she was a guard assigned to watch over Gold while he was in the castle. Silver in turn told her about him and Gold as well as their relationship.

"I see, so you were the reason he left everyday," she pondered, "hes very dedicated to you," she commented.

"I know," Silver looked down, his ears lying flat in embarrassment, but his tail wagged slightly nonetheless.

"So you plan to co-rule a new kingdom, one where everyone can be happy? Regardless of race?" She inquired.

Silver nodded.

"Well then," she knelt in front of him and he felt a little weird, "I'm am ever at your side your majesties."

This was it, their bright future started now, Golds weight on his back didn't seem that heavy anymore, his chest felt like it had unraveled itself of several knots. This was the beginning of something great.

"Sir, the Felis forces have retreated, and they have agreed to our treaty," Crystal, now a grown woman, bowed before her kings.

The red haired Canid looked upon his map with a smile, "send in the papers then," he said, a crown sat loftily atop his head.

"My dad is gonna be stubborn you know," A black haired Felis's tail twitched in annoyance before joining the other kings side.

"Yes, but look, it's all finally coming together," he gestured to the map, wrapping him arms around Gold. Gold hummed in approval.

"Yes, finally," a tear slid down his cheek, "we can live in happiness."

Silver licked the side of his cheek and they both chuckled, free of the doubt and worry that had once consumed them.
