NOT EDITED, due to my laziness and stupid confusing assignments. I swear, uni is like a death trap, all sweet and honey coated outside but hell in the inside.

Chapter twenty-eight

I woke up at fucking four in the fucking morning. The clearing ritual was done early in the morning before the sun rises on the day of the festival. Which is a huge pain in the ass for me and the pack females. Yes, only females are involved in this ritual, the wolf spirits are sexist as fuck. I sighed, lifting Richard's heavy arm off of my waist and silently slipping out of the bed but not before kissing him on the forehead.

He growled lowly and shifted onto his other side, quickly settling back into a deep sleep. It made me smile a little as i sneaked into the shower and got ready in the nick of time. It doesn't take him long to notice i was gone, eventhough he's usually a sound sleeper. And i rather him not finding me naked and wet in the shower, i don't have the time to entertain him. Today is the day of the festival!

Brushing my wet hair until i'm satisfied there were no knots, i applied some makeup on my freshly washed face and some lotion on my neck and arms. "Hey." I squeaked, as two strong arms entrapped me. He nuzzled my neck and growled lustily. "You smell delicious."

"Richard, no." I giggled as he laid chaste kisses along my neck. Seeming he listened, he lastly kissed my cheek and tightened his embrace while rocking us softly side to side. "You don't know how long i yearned for this moment." He whispered huskily into my ear. "Waking up everyday, with you by my side."

"I love you." I said then tilted my head and kissed his rough jaw. Me too, i've been fantasizing this moment since that day i laid my eyes on his on my sixteenth birthday. The reality is way better than any fantasy my head can conjure.

"I love you too." He confessed as we stared into each other's eyes. I smiled and pulled him in for a deep lingering kiss. We parted, panting. "I got to go." He groaned and refused to let go. "Richard." I pouted and gave him the puppy eyes. "Please?"

He sighed in defeat and reluctantly let go. "Go, you busy woman." He slapped my ass as i walked pass him. I giggled and sashayed out the door, teasing him. I closed the door and turned, barely missing Sally, who looked shocked as i was. "You scared me." She exclaimed, calming herself down.

"I was just about to wake you, luna." She smiled as we walked side by side. "The females are already gathered." And precisely because the whole ritual was utterly long and boring, i skipped the part where i describe what happened, like us forming a huge circle in the middle of the field where we will conduct the festival, all on our knees with our hands linked to our neighbours all the while looking up at the dark sky, chanting our earnest prayers.

Boring stuff.

By breakfast, we had prepared a nutrious and bountiful meal for the packs and our incoming guests. And right on time too. "Welcome to our humble abode." I greeted the alpha and luna from the Crestfall pack, a close neighbouring pack whom arrived earlier than expected.

"Thank you and you are?" The luna smiled warmingly, not knowing her question just struck a nerve. It felt like my stomach just bungee jumped right into my intestines. I forgot about the whole 'take over' thing. The other packs weren't updated and frankly it's none of their business but i'm cringing inside from their without a doubt, future disdain looks.
