Today Lily casually walked up to me during lunch. Now this is the day after the nightmare form last night. It still sent shivers down my spine when I thought of it. I looked over at Lily, and motioned to the entrance, asking if she wanted to go somewhere else to eat. She nodded, following me out of the school.

"Hey Marshal. I was wondering if I could ask you something.", Lily suddenly said as soon as we were out of ear shot of the Socs and other Greasers.

"And what is that?", I asked thinking she would ask about lunch.

"Can you come to my house later, and help me with some of the projects for our classes? I'm a little confused on what they are asking us to do." I felt like I heard this before. Hm des a vue.

"Sure. I can clear some time."

"Great thanks." Later I walked to Lily's house. I knocked on the door, and it was Lily's mom who answered the door. She informed me that Lily was in her room. I thanked her, and headed up the stairs to help Lily. Her door was wide open so I walked in. She looked up from what she was doing, which was trying to figure out the insturtions for the science project. I looked next to her, and saw that she had already put the project together. So why was she trying to figure out the instructions?

  "Hello Marshal. Thanks for coming"

"Yep. I see that you have the project put together. What else do you need help with?" She looked over at the project sitting next to her, and looked a little surprised. She blinked a couple of times until she seemed to have found her focus. She mumbled so I ended up having to walk closer to hear.

"Are you trying to tell me something?", I asked her gently, and softly poking her in the side.

"Maybe." She turned her head away looking distant.

"Come on, you can tell me anything."

"Okay. I asked you here to tell you that I.... that I still..." She looked really unsure of herself at that moment. Lily usually never looked unsure.

"That you still... what.", I probed.

"That I still like. I have still liked you even after four years. You may not like me back, but I will still like you.", she spoke quickly, but slow enough to understand the words coming out of her mouth. She let her words sink in. I think she was expecting me to do anything, but stand there calmly. Then I remembered why it felt like this happened before. Four years ago Lily had asked me to come by.

We were sitting in her living room. I was helping her with a reading project do in a week. She looked over and mumbled some words. I looked her in the eyes to ask her what was wrong. But before I could say anything she learned forward, and kissed me on the lips. She looked up at me blushing. I was lost for words. I couldn't think of anything to say.

"Sorry. I couldn't help myself. I like you Marshal even if you don't like me back. And I will always like you.", she confessed in a quiet voice.

"It's okay, and that was kind of nice."

"Really?" She looked up, her bright blue eyes filled with hopefulness. I nodded my head.

I remember know that we had only dated for a year then I broke up with her. I broke up with her, for I realized I was attracted to boys. It was also four years ago that I started dating Richard. He was probably the best thing that ever happened, and I kind of felt bad for Lily. It was a good thing that Lily said everything was okay, but now I know that she was just putting up a front. She probably didn't want me to come running back to her out of pity.

"Are you okay with all this?" I had just seen that she had been talking still while I was thinking of the past.

"Okay with all of what again."

"With me still liking you, and raping you.", Lily winced as she spoke, "I guess not since your jaw is hanging down." I closed my mouth, and apologized to her.

"No I should apologize for rapping you. And might I just add that I'm pregnant, and it's your child." I couldn't keep myself from gapping at her.

"Don't feel like you have to date me again. I found someone knew, and we're getting married after we graduate."

"It's okay, Lily. I'm already with someone else as well. I hope you two have a great relationship." Now it was Lily's time to drop her jaw at me.

"Y-you're w-with someone. I thought you didn't want to date girls.", She stuttered. I nodded my head. She looked down then up, then everywhere that wasn't me. I stared at her waiting for her to do or say something.

"You can go now Marshal, but I will still like you even though I'm with someone else. No hard feelings?"

"No hard feelings. Besides I like you as a sister, not a lover. See you tomorrow." I gave her a quick hug then left. I walked to Richard's house to hang out with him. I wasn't the bit curious on when she rapped me, or why she did. I didn't really care, as long as she found a way to keep herself safe. Lily was always like a sister to me, and never felt much past that. That's why I decided to stop dating her after a year. It just wasn't going to work out between us. That and the fact that I was gay. And I defiantly know this: that was an interesting visit at Lily's house, interesting indeed.
