CHAPTER 1
The doorbell rang as I ran down my flight of stairs to eat breakfast. I rushed over to open the door. "Hey Yasming! Hey Serena!" I screamed as I jumped up and gave them a big hug.
"Ready to head back to school? I can't believe we are finally Juniors, guys!" "I KNOW!!! I'm super excited!! Especially to see Olive again!!!" said Serena. Yasming, Serena, and I have been best friends ever since the 4th grade! Ever since then, we've been stuck together like glue.
"Ugh, Serena. You've been in love with him ever since 5th grade. You even gave him a nickname! What kind of name is Olive anyways? Get over him already!" said Yasming.
"Easy for you to say, Yasming.
You've never been in love before. All you do is read, write, and study all day long. Even during summertime!" replied Serena.
"Serena, don't be so rude! Reading and studying are so much fun! I can't believe you don't like to read," I replied.
"Amy, you and Yasming are such nerds. I can't believe I'm friends with ya'll. Haha, just kidding. I don't even know what I would do without you guys," said Serena.
"Awh, we love you too, Serena!" Yasming and I said at the same time as we gave her a big hug.
"Ugh, time to go to Watermill," I said. Watermill High School is a school where all the rich kids attend. And believe it. It doesn't sound as pleasant as it really is. Yeah, sure. WHS is like 20 stories high, with shining glass ceilings and floors, chandeliers hanging from the top of each classroom, and lockers that can fit big statues. I swear. My locker is the size of my bathroom! Oh, and our school has what we call, "levels." Four levels. Level 4 are the -you're-a-loser-and-you-have-no-friends-or-a-life. Yeah, number 4 are mostly nerds.
The ones who just focus on school and never really interact with anyone else. Level 1s and 2s just think of level 4s as bugs that just need to be stepped on. So level 4s are pretty much invisible. Okay, now, let's move on to level 3s. Level 3s are the you're-not-that-cool-but-we-don't-really-care-about-you-so-basically-you're-somewhat-invisible. Level 3s aren't as bad as level 4s. Some level 3s are nerds and some are just a little shy. Yasming, Serena, and I are level 3s.
Other levels don't really care about us. Level 4s are the ones that the higher levels are really disgusted by. Level 2s are the you're-pretty-cool-enough-to-hang-out-with-the -1s-at-times-but-make-sure-you-know-your-place. Level 2s are considered to be popular, but not as much as level 1s. They also look down on people, but again, not as much as level 1s.
Okies, level 1s... oh my lord... They are the I-can-do-whatever-I-fucking-want-so-please-move-out-of-my-damn-way. Yeah, they're kinda rude, ya know? How about no. They are the bitchiest kids in our school. They skip class whenever they want to and act like they are the Kings and Queens of England. Geez. The only level 1 that I truly like is Osa. She's my best friend, along with Yasming and Serena. Although Osa a Level 1, she is so sweet, beautiful, and kind. Her beautiful dark, brown, chocolatey eyes are mesmerizing.
She has a tall figure, and beautiful curly hair. Yasming and Serena are really pretty too. Yasming is a beautiful Asian with long, black, straight hair. Serena is definitely gorgeous with her long dark brown hair with lighter brown tips. Me? Well, I guess I'm average. I have long, black hair, the length of Yasming's, and I'm pretty short.
But oh well, I wouldn't say I'm exactly hideous. Oh, and did I mention Brandon Perry. Brandon is so damn hot. I've been crushing on him ever since the 6th grade. We have talked a few times, and he even gave me his number.... but it was because we had a project to work on together.. but still, he gave it. Although Brandon is a Level 1, he is super sweet, caring, and nice.
Not to mention he's drop dead gorgeous. Ugh, with his mesmerizing eyes, dark straight hair flipping to the side, and muscular body.... man, who wouldn't want that?! Unfortunately, he has a girlfriend. Ugh, Celine. She's really beautiful though. Goddess like, actually. I can't compete with that.
"AMY!! Stop spacing out! Time to go!" screamed Yasming. "Goodness gracious, okay! Stop yelling in my ear already!" I replied, grabbing my stuff and heading for the door. Well, goodbye summer, hello school.
CHAPTER 2
I gave my brother quick kiss on cheek as he dropped us off at Watermill. "Bye Dawn! Thanks for the ride!" I said. "Let's go guys!" I turned to Yasming and Serena. Yay, time to go back.
As we walked on the flight of stairs to get to our floor, Serena said, "Well, see ya'll later. My class is in the E hall." "See ya! Have fun!" Yasming gave her a brief hug as I said, "Bye, Serena!" Yasming and I have the first period together--AP Biology. Yay, fun, right?
Something--someone caught my eye the moment I stepped into the class. Sitting in the last row, in the right corner, was Brandon. Brandon Terry.
He's one of the most popular kids in our school. Brandon, the guy I have had a crush on ever since the 6th grade . Brandon, the most charming prince I have ever laid eyes on.
Something else caught my eye... Celine. I mean, it's kinda hard not to see her with that flaming red hair, and beautiful brown eyes, and goddess like face. Geez. Why can't I look like that?
As I turned around to look at Yasming, I saw that she has really taken her seat. On the fourth row. Brandon's row. Next to his girlfriend. I took the empty seat next to Yasming. "What do you think you're doing?! Why do you have to be so close to you-know-who?!" I whispered to Yasming as soft as possible.
"Sorry, Amy. These were the only empty seats left," Yasming replied, sympathy showed in her eyes. Yasming has always teased me about Brandon, but I know that that she understands how I feel about him.
"It's fine," I smiled back.
"Hello, students. I am Mr. Hessenbur, and I am pleased to start of this year with you guys! This is my first year teaching at Watermill, so please go a little easy on me!" our teacher introduced himself.
After two hours of boring classwork, notes, and discussions, the bell FINALLY rang.
"YES! I'm so out of here!" I yelled. I threw both of my arms up and sprinted out of the room.
Suddenly, I bumped into someone's hard chest. "I'm so so sorry! I didn't mea--" as I looked up, I saw Kevin Fitzberg a Level 1. And he was extremely gorgeous. He has wavey brown hair, beautiful brown eyes, and a beautiful figure. He could be a model.
I expected a disgusted look on his face, but he was... smiling.
"It's okay, Amy. You look extremely excited to get out of this class," he said with a warm, lovely tone. "Yeah, I don't think I can stay here any longer. That was too boring. And... never mind," I said before I can stop myself.
"Haha, and.. what? Perhaps, there's a guy in there that you're desperately in love with, but he has a girlfriend and there's no way to get him?" Kevin winked.
"Actually, you got that whole story right...." I whispered.
Kevin saw the sad look on my face and quickly said, "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know... I didn't mean to bring it up. I'm so sorry, Amy." He looked at me with that beautiful face.
"Oh, no, it's fine.. wait," I stopped. I was too distracted that I didn't wonder...how did Kevin.. know my name? Level 1s usually don't acknowledge level 3s...
"How do you know my name? Aren't the Level 3s like... I don't know... invisible to ya'll?" I nervously asked, just realizing that I'm actually talking to a level 1.
"Of course I know your name. I've known you since 7th grade. We have lots of classes together. And I don't give a damn about the "levels." It's so freaking stupid" Kevin replied with a wink.
"Hmmm, I like you," I said too quickly, again, before I could stop myself.
He laughed. His smile was... warm. Somehow, I really enjoyed hearing him laugh.
"I like you too, Amy. See you around!" he winked again.
As he walked away, I didn't realize how hard my heart was beating... Kevin Fitzberg. .? What...?
