Chapter 12

"What do we with the kid?" Natasha asked as she watched Rhodey surgery through a glass window Tony stood next to her watching intensely as his best friend was put back together like Humpty Dumpty. (y/n) was a floor under them in a private room with security watching her. After the fight Cap's Team was sent to a high tech. prison and (y/n), Natasha begged to keep (y/n) and said she's taken care of her and take her home once she was woken. Thinking back maybe that wasn't the best idea.

"when she wakes up I'll take her," Tony said not looking away from the window

"I don't think that's a good idea. She's been missing for a year and her father hasn't filed a missing person report, wouldn't he be worried" Natasha said

"... I'll look into it, just....I'll watch her for now" Tony said, "I'll watch her".

(Y/n) woke up to the smell of a hospital she had grown a custom to this smell in her earlier years. Thinking the worse she refused to open her eyes, fortunately, she wasn't plugged up to a heart monitor so no one could hear her pounding heart.

"you're awake. do you want something to eat?" Tony asked leaning against her door frame, Rhodey was in the room next door, he knew she was awake by the way she moved and her breathing changed. "I could send someone to get you something McDonald's, Burger King, anything."

(y/n) opened her eyes Tony was leaning against her door frame arm in a sling he looked exhausted like he'd fall out any minute. "Plums"

"you want some plums. I can get you some plums. Plums" Tony texted Happy to get some plums and a sandwich and bring them to the hospital as well as some extra clothes for a little girl.

"where are you going?" (y/n) asked when she noticed Tony trying to leave

"I was just - I ... Nowhere" Tony took a seat on the chair next to her bed.

"you look sad, what happened?" (y/n) asked watching Tony slum in the chair and close his eyes

"You're too young you wouldn't understand"

"it still helps to talk. And I can try to understand" Tony took a deep breath. He was really about to get therapy by a 5-year-old.

"The accords is to protect people and give us limits so I signed it, Steve didn't. Then Barnes, or someone else, blew up the place where the accords meeting was held killing the king of Wakanda. They sent me to get Rogers, Barnes, and Wilson who had run off they put a team together I put a team together. We fight, we.... Rhodes got hurt he might not walk again. I just I don't understand how all this happened. I don't understand why didn't he just sign the accords why didn't he listen. What's so special about Barnes. I don't get it." Tony was on the verge tears he was a complete mess.

"I heard Steve talking about the accords and read what I could of a copy I found back at the place he could use some changing"

"Listen, kid-"

"North Korean people don't really like North Korea. Say some monster is destroying North Korea, Godzilla, killing all the nice people there and you want to go help and save those people but you can't because the accords says you must have permission first and they won't give you permission because they don't like North Korea, what do you do then?"

Tony didn't have an answer he hadn't thought of it like that actually he didn't even read all of it he got the basics then signed.

"And Bucky didn't blow anything up I was with him the whole time while this imposter blew stuff we were at the park." (y/n) said matter fact tone

"Then who set up the bomb"

"remember that strange doctor from headquarters he talked to Bucky. It was him. He's going to do something else bad that's why Cap out the team together to stop him"

"do you know where this is happening? where they're going?"

"no I fell asleep, but Sammy probably knows" (y/n) shrugged.

"you were right talking does help, thanks" Tony ruffed her hair and kissed her forehead.

"where's Rhodey"

"next door, Why?" (y/n) stumbled out of bed taking a cup of water she went to Rhodey's room with a water bottle.

"I'm going to Avatar him"

"what?!" Tony said not understanding her TV references. (y/n) rolled her eyes even Bucky understood that references." you know avatar"

"the blue people?"

"no, the cartoon"

"Still don't get it".

Walking into his room Rhodey was laying on his stomach she pulled back his blankets and poured some water on his back kneeling in a chair she placed hands on his back. The water began to glow light blue then absorb into his skin she poured some more water and did it again until there was no more water.

"what did you do? "Tony asked when she finished

"I think I healed him"

"you think?"

"I don't know I've only ever done this on a broken hand. Can I have some plums now
