Meliodas watched as Merlin stood over her body, sprinkling a peaceful sleeping potion onto her. After the event she had passed out, and though she he'd fallen asleep on her own she would thrash around and scream so they took matters into their own hands. Merlin had concluded that she hadn't slept in over seven months, was on the verge of a magical collapse. Meliodas hadn't spoken since their fight, well except to Merlin. He watched her breathe and every breath sounded like a struggle.
The thought of one of his closest friends going through all of that, just because he felt like she needed to be punished for not listening to him, it gnawed at him like a wounded bear. He couldn't understand why he would do such a thing, why would he intentionally push her off the platform?
He sighed and decided it was time to face his team, he slowly turned on his heal following Merlin to the Tavern front. There was a low conversation happening, which seized when he came into the room. They all glared at him, their eyes searing into his. He glumly sat at the farthest stool, slumping and awaiting the questions. Finally someone cut the silence.
"What the hell, Captain." Ban sneered, getting up and walking towards him.
"Why the hell would you keep some shit like that a secret!?!" Ban yelled grabbing his collar, lifting him to meet his eyes.
"Better yet, why would you do that? Why would you push her of the platform? What possessed you to do that? To push one of our own off the platform? You know where we were and how powerful the Titans can be, and yet you have the audacity to blame the injuries of Liz on her? Last time I checked she didn't not only save your life, she also saved Liz's and an entire village! You owe your fucking life to her, but you repay her by saying sorry!!!" He yells, Meliodas stood still unable to speak nor move, he could only process everything.
"We thought she was dead, but all this time she was enduring all this torment and none of us fucking knew!" Ban seethed.
It was expected that Ban would be the most upset, for him and Skylar were joined at the hip. They were very similar in personalities, they drank together, stole together, kicked ass together. They even slept on the same bed, she was the only person that could keep all those dreams and nightmares if Elaine away. She was one of the only people, including the captain, he could call his best friend.
"Talk, damn it!" Ban threw him across the bar and yelled. Everyone stood still, Diane and King were still in a deep state of shock. Merlin for the first time had not even the slightest smirk in her lips. It was replaced by a slight frown, and Gowther was trying to 'read the room'. The Holy Knights were concerned with this entire event, and Elizabeth was quite. She didn't know what to think, she was so lost.
There was another pause of silence, only the soft noise of rain hitting the roof. Meliodas looked up, tear running down his cheeks.
"I'm so sorry, I don't know what came over me. I was so upset about Liz's injuries and I pointed all my rage to her. I blanked and after I did it, I didn't know what to do. I I couldn't just tell you guys that I had thrown her off the platform. After that mission, Baratraz gave us another mission and I just pushed it to the back of my head. I didn't know what to do..." His voice cracked, genuine pain in his voice. Tear ran down his face, as he tried to find words for his pain.
"The last thing I want to do is cause pain to one of my friends. I just wish there was a way I could make it up to her, I should have rescued her, but I didn't and I feel like shit now!" He yelled, the room was ambient now. His words lingering between them, suddenly the sound of heels clicking caught their attention. They watched as Skylar adjusted her cloak, hiding her red eyes sheltering her own from his green ones. She couldn't bare to look into his eyes, she needed air. She needed to hunt.
"I'm stepping out for awhile, if I'm not back don't look for me." She said lowly. They looked at her cautiously.
"Are you sure you can⏤"
"I am more than capable of hunting on my own. I don't know if you've notice but I've been on my own for fourteen years, I'll be fine." She said lowly. They all watched her as she raised her hood. She ripped her necklace off and walked outside, the rain dancing on her cloak.
"Sacred Treasure Fourth Form: Blood Borne Excalibur" She muttered under her breath, she flung herself into the forest without looking back. She ran, ran as far as the land would let her allowing the rain to entangle itself with her hair. She felt a rush of pain in her heart as the rain drops washed away her tears, she howled in pain. She continued to run, it had become pitch black the rain had grown turbulent. She sought shelter in the trees, letting their green leaves hug her and shield of the cold and harsh climate.
"Why does it have to be like this? Why do I have to be like this? I know how this will turn out, but I give myself hope. Then I end up like this, broken..." She whispered to herself.
"I just wanna go home..." She whispered, and with those words she leaned against the tree humming a soft tune to herself allowing herself to be numb and fall into a dreamless sleep, the rain calming her.

At the tavern all the sins were on edge, she had not returned. It had been ten hours since she left and they hadn't sensed her since. Ban had began to pace, as the minuets ticked by. The silence was cut short by the royal who offered they all go to bed soon. Though they all muttered a response, this caused her to frown and bid them a goodnight.
"It's been eleven hours, where the hell is she?" Ban sneered. King looked up from his chastifol and watched as Ban paced.
"Ban, calm down. She's probably fine, plus she told us not to look for her." He reminded.
"Yeah, remember last time that happened? She was imprisoned by a bunch of Titans..." Everyone flinched, Meliodas was stoic. He had become worried and lost in thought. Suddenly he got up and walked out of the tavern.
"Where the hell are you going? Captain!"
