Warmth, it was a strange feeling to feel during such a tragic event. Yet, that's all they felt⏤ the weather had changed; not drastically, but enough to change the mood. The rain still pattered on the tattered skin of the sins.
Meliodas was still, not moving, not breathing, just still. He had yet to process what had just transpired, she was gone. Slipped between his aching fingers like water, wisped away by his prudent brother who had imposed on his troubled life like a moth to the flame. He could remember her, like a photograph that was slowly fading away. Her voice was like a distant memory, but he knew what it sounded like as if he heard her call his name one more time.
"S-Sir Meliodas?" A voice called. It wasn't the voice he wanted to hear. This voice was higher and was more of an annoying fly then the calming bee it used to be. He felt a warm hand wrapped around his shoulder in an effort to comfort him, instead it angered him profusely.
"She's gone..." He muttered under his breath. His voice shaking with fear, with anger, with wrath. This shaking had started to spread throughout his body, almost as soon as he uttered those words, like a plague in the summer or starvation in the winter.
"C-Captain?" Diane's voice shook as a familiar power emitted from him. It was dark, forcing the sins to shudder under its weight. Black, almost inky, markings began to spread throughout his body, embracing him in its unforgiving hold.
"Shit... Everyone! Clear out!" Ban's voice rang through the clearing as the team truly hauled ass out of his way.
There was no way to stop Meliodas in this state, you simply got out of his way or got killed trying to stop him. Diane grabbed Elizabeth and Hawk so fast they were almost given whiplash, racing against time, trying to get away from Meliodas's dangerous state. His anger was profound, unforgiving, and ultimately deadly.
As they were bolting to get out of his reach, his screams of pure anguish were so loud you would think their destruction could be felt in other realms.
...
The room was dimly lit, the soft sound of footsteps echoed through the corridor, bouncing off the walls and into Sky's ears. She held her gaze down, not daring to lift her head to face anyone, much less make any semblance of an emotion. Zeldris was at her left, Estarossa at her right; together they escorted her down the hall into the throne room where her impending doom awaited. As the doors open, the first thing to reach her eyes was a throne room where the throne itself could dwarf a giant and the room had no trouble exceeding what she had in her memory.
The room creaked with an uncomfortable frost, with every breath leaving a white fog trailing from her lips. The cold challenged her body's warmth, as she shivered and held herself close for comfort. Zeldris noticed this and snapped his eyes to Estarossa as if pleading with him in a conversation only they could hear. Estaross nodded, snapping his fingers and fire lit a path brightening the room and warming it up to her leisure.
"The King will be with you shortly. Is there anything I can get you, Sky?" Zeldris spoke.
"Yeah, a doorway home would be nice..." She grumbled underneath her breath, Zeldris chuckled at her snarky remarks.
"Still snarky, even now? Anything else, Desteria?" He teased. Sky rolled her eyes, flipping him off as he walked away. Not noticing the slight eagerness in his step.
