Sky screamed as she felt her soul's bond with Meliodas rip slowly. This is what it had come to. She knew once soul mate's bond tore, even just a little, it meant that she could bond to someone else. This is what she hoped for. She had a day before the wedding, a day until she would be wed to an entirely different man who deserves better.
But was it really what she wanted?
Sky was completely convinced that once upon a time all she wanted was that dumbass blonde that always found a way to put that stupid dopey grin on her face, but now after all this pain, she was conflicted. Reluctant to believe he even wanted her.
The pain was immense, something she had never felt before. It felt as if her body was being engulfed with cold flames as they sear her flesh, causing cold sweats to break through her body. The skin around her breast was a shade of bright red, as she clawed at herself. She was rejected the bond, becoming empty to accept another soul that might love her.
Images of the blonde panned in her head, as she bit her lip to stop herself from screaming. Sky's lungs felt tortured as the pain subsided for a bit, her silk nightgown clinging to her as the moisture from her skin acted adhesive, her silver strands stuck to her neck and face. She brought her hand to her forehead, feeling her feverish skin. Her eyes drooped as she looked around her room, she was terrified to ask for help.
After last night, Zeldris had begun to worry about her. He had promised to check up on her later in the evening but he was taking too long, she needed help getting into a bath before she boiled to death. Her eyes noticed her butler bell on her nearby dresser, and with one hand she grasped the brass bell ringing it once. Like magic, a knock on her door snapped her back a bit to reality.
"May I come in, mistress?" A low toned voice hummed out. Sky let out the only thing she could muster, a groan. The raven haired butler came in with a smile soon replaced with a concern furrow.
"Mistress, do you wish me to call for help?" He asked quickly. Sky nodded her head, just her weak hand pointing to the bath-tub. The butler sighed, shaking his head to her.
"Very well, but you do understand I will have to help you?" He asked, Sky hummed a response. He cleared his throat and paced his arms around her, lifting her up, her hair cascading down in a waterfall of riches. Her eyes no longer held their sparkle, in fact it had been a long time since they held that once alluring shine.
Sebastian sat her on a nearby lounge chair, letting her tired body fold within itself. He began to fill up the bath, warm steam coming from it porcelain walls calming and lulling her. Her eyes clasp shut, as her mind droned on to some place far from here. The sounds of water filling up the tub calling to her, she felt a slight jostle her eyes slowly fluttering open.
"I will be undressing you now, is that alright with you, mistress?" Sebastian's eyes held concern, he had never seen her like this. No one has.
She was broken.
"Please. I can't.." She whispered, her voice rasping. Sebastian gave a quaint nod, before moving his hands to her buttons and slowly undressing her. He lifted the gown over her head, placing a towel around her exposed parts. He wouldn't deny she was a true beauty, the demon part of him wanted to drill her insides to pieces, but he was loyal. He knew his place, and understood the consequences. Even with the consequences, he had something else holding him back.
He had immense respect for her. She had gone through so much just to stand for what she loved, she had rebelled against her duties for her own good and at the end of the day, that's exactly what demons stand for. The only part that he respected more was that she had sacrificed all she had knowing she wouldn't get anything in exchange.
He placed her into the water, letting her sink into the warm water. Sky moaned as the water relaxed her tense muscles, she watched as Sebastian bowed.
"I will let you enjoy your bath, please call out if you need any further assistance." He turned on his heel, but before exiting a raspy voice halted him.
"If Prince Zeldris comes this way, please stop him. I know he'll stop me from doing what needs to be done." She whispered. The raven haired butler let out a chuckle.
"Very well, but I do need to agree with my lord, it might need to be done but is it truly what you wish?" He said out loud, Sky frowned as his footsteps clicked out of the room.
"I don't know anymore..."
...
Zeldris stood next to the silver haired man, watching him as he wrote on his report in blood red ink. His face held no expression but inside he bubbled with rage.
Adrien was a well respected demon, although not a ten commandment. And he knew full well that he was a very kind man, for a demon. Still he felt irrational rage towards him. Adrien was the main chair of the Senate of Demons, he made executive decisions alongside the Demon King, also so happens to be the Chancellor of Hell, and it pissed off Zeldris.
"Adrammelech, please hurry with your report, my father wants it now not tomorrow." He seethed, Adrein's lips turned into a tight frown.
"Why so serious? You know I despise being called by my real name, it is why I'm known as Adrien. Please Zeldris, put our differences aside. I am happy for once, I am to be married to a beautiful bride and guaranteed the throne, it's quite exciting. Be happy for me, I will be the youngest King of all Hell history!"
Zeldris growled, how could his father give on his own children. Especially giving Desteria's hand in marriage to an over privileged brat. Zeldris turned, his back to him beginning to head out the door. He halted at Adrien's words.
"It's truly a shame though, that all three sons of the Demon King competed for the same women's love, after all it was you who failed to prove your strength to your father, was it not?" Zeldris began to shake in anger.
"Tread lightly, Adrammelech." He hissed, Adrien just chuckled.
"It sounds to me that you threatened your next king... What a major offense, don't you think, Prince?"
