Chapter 25: Leo

A/N So the awsomesauce new cover is released *squeal* so I was wondering if I should change it to that or keep it like this. Your thoughts?

 

Leo was seriously starting to doubt Khione’s sanity. She was going around in a circle from Leo, to Percy and Annabeth, and then to Frank and Hazel. Every time she would make some slow remark at each of them and start marvelling about “her lady”s excellent plans. Every once in a while if anybody tried to strain free or throw an insult at her, she would cover their lips with frost. Which hurt, by the way.

 Leo was starting to wonder where Jason, Piper, and Luke were. He had a very naive hope that they were still on the ship and sailing to Athens. Leo had been so bored watching Luke before on the ship that he told him everything about the Argo ll, including how to steer it and man it. Luke had listened carefully, but still not saying anything in return. Hopefully he could steer it, but as soon as he thought it, his hopes were gone. Khione had probably caught them, too and put them in another room to make Leo think exactly what he had just thought.

 

When Khione was with Frank and Hazel, muttering something about sacrifices, there appeared a flash of light right in front of him. A goddess. Aphrodite. Leo jumped, only a millimeter probably, seeing as he had so many iron cords tying him. Percy and Annabeth didn’t seem to be registering her, but she was probably invisible to them.

Leo’s eyes widened as she spoke. ‘Leo Valdez. I have came here to help you, even if I cannot get you out. None of your friends can see me. I am united, if only for a second. As my gift, I have granted you the power to speak in each other’s minds. I apologize that I cannot get you out, Gaia has put some sort of force field towards that.’

Leo slowly nodded. ‘Yes, my lady.’

‘Good. Oh, for Hades’ sake! The headaches!’ Aphrodite transported away in a flash of blazing light that Leo just had time to turn away from so he didn't get fried by a godly-nuclear-blast. It would feel like it, anyway.

Hey. Leo thought in Percy's mind

Am I having a hallucination? he thought back

No. Some god just gave us the power to think in each other's mind. Ooh! I can see all your naughty thoughts of Annie-wannie! Leo replied

There no came a different voice in Leo's head. 'Leo. Valdez. Call me that again and I swear to gods that I will judo-flip you even worse then I did Percy

Watch your back there, man. Annabeth's judo-flipping is not.. pleasant Percy mind-spoke him

You bet it isn't. Annabeth thought to him

Khione's coming back! Leo urgently thought to the two of them

'Hello, ladies and gentlemen. Is all going well?'

'Yes,' said Percy sarcasticly, 'we're locked up in a underground chamber with Gaia planning to take over the world and kill us all. Oh, and don't forget that the two camps are at complete war.'

Khione thrust out her hand at Percy like Elsa from Frozen, and his lips got a thick coat of ice.

He winced, and Leo could see silent tears coming off Annabeth's face.

'You see? It is hopeless. Gaia will overpower you all and destroy your teeny little demigod camps. Your other friends should be here soon.'

Leo closed his eyes. This wasen't happening. It was all a dream. no-one had been kidnapped. Luke had stayed dead. Leo was still on the Argo ll. It was all a bod dream.

Leo snapped his eyes open to a very very cold small piece of ice running down his back.

'Ahh!'

Khione smirked. 'Having a little nap, demigod boy?'

Suddenly their appered fissures in the ceiling, and rubble started to fall down.

Khione widened her eyes. 'That is my que to go. I only need these two, thank you very much. Gaia won't mind if I leave you here to die.'

She swooped up in a swirl of mist and snow, Percy and Annabeth getting sucked into the vortage.

'I will go now. Happy death, Leo Valdez.'

The bonds fell, and in the distance he heard a rashing noise that he guessed was Frank and Hazel falling from thier nets
