Chapter 26: Leo

Leo was pretty sure he was gonna die. The cave was falling down, and a boy

der had stopped Leo to getting to Frank and Hazel. They could shout to each other, but nothing else.

'Can you see any way out?' Hazel said loudly through the cracks.

Leo looked around. He now only had about four metres of space behind him, the rest already into rubble. Percy and Annabeth had disappeared along with Khione, and their chains had been covered up.

'No, it's all blocked up by the ruins.' Leo said back truthfully. More rubble fell, taking away about half a metre of his space.

'Oh. Do you think you can try to drill a hole in the ceiling?' Hazel called.

'Absolutely not. It's way too unstable. Let's try to move this big boulder.'

Leo pushed, and Frank and Hazel were helping, but it wasn't enough to move it.

He heard the sound of concrete falling from the other side, and it started to fall on his side too. He now only had about one and a half metres left, and the dust in the air was making his lungs feel really dry.

'It's caving in,' Leo said urgently, 'I only have about four feet left.'

'Don't you think that we're also totally cramped with no space here?' Frank yelled.

'Watch it, goldfish.' Leo snapped back.

'Boys! Stop it, both of you!' Hazel scolded them.

'Uh, I have a minor problem here. The dust is starting to gather in my thro-' Leo was interrupted by a huge chuck of concrete falling from the roof. Leo scampered, but another fell, and this time it landed on top of him, sending flares of extreme pain through his entire body, and he could feel that his ribs were busted. Not enough oxygen was getting to his lungs, and Leo could feel himself slowly shutting down.

'Leo!? LEO!?' Hazel yelled, but it all seemed disant.

He could feel his consciousness slipping, the world fading, it all coming to a end.

His last thoughts were of Calypso, her eyes, her hair, her everything. I'm' goingtodiea seventh wheel, always remembered astheonewhodied over stormorfire. He told himself.
