1. Rumours

Leigh-Anne's POV

I was walking towards class when Jade ran towards me. "Leiiiighh!" "Jaaaade!" "Did you hear?" "Hear what?" "Jesy and I broke up."

I immediately got angry. Jesy Nelson is captain of the cheerleading squad. I heard that she was sweet and loves everybody, but I guess "everybody" doesn't include Jadey.

"Leigh!" Jade called. "What did she do?" I angrily asked. "We got in a huge fight cause I heard that Jesy cheated on me with a guy." Jade explained. "They're just rumours, Jadey."

I looked behind Jade. Jesy had appeared holding her history book. "Jade, you have to believe me." She pleaded. Jesy sounded desperate to me.

"Leigh, can Jesy and I talk in private?" Jade's voice distracted me from my thoughts. "Sure." I headed towards English.

Jade's POV

"Jadey, please. I would never cheat on you. You know that." Jesy was begging for my forgiveness. "Then why did Richard Forrest come up to me and tell me that you two hooked up over the weekend?" I demanded. "We didn't hook up. Richard must have spiked my drink at the party." Jesy said. "Jade you have to believe me."

I took a deep breath and sighed. "Jadey." Jesy pushed some strands of hair from my face. "Fine." I gave in. "Thank you, thank you so much!" Jesy hugged me and kissed my cheek.

Riiiiinnggg!

Time for 1st block. I thought. "C'mon. Time for History." Jesy took my hand and walked with me to class.

Jesy and I have History and Physical Science together. We always sit across from each other. Jes didn't like when another girl talked to me, especially Leigh. I told Jesy that Leigh is my best friend but she's still jealous.

"Jade!" I turned around. Leigh was trying to catch up with me, even though I had stopped walking. "Hey Leigh." She finally caught up to me. "Ready for lunch?" "Yeah." We walked towards the cafeteria. I knew Jesy would be waiting for me. She didn't like it when I was late.

"Jade. Where have you been?" I sat with Jesy and her posse at lunch while Leigh sat with our group of friends. "With Leigh." I said. Jesy let out a growl but didn't say anything. I rolled my eyes and ate my lunch.

"So Jesy, did you hear that Richard and Norman Reed are gonna fight each other?" Jes' best friend, Serena Stallings, asked. "Really?" Jes asked. "Yeah." Emily Kay, Jes' other best friend, said. I kept quiet as Jesy, Serena and Emily gossiped.

I got up to throw my tray away. "Jade!" Leigh called me over. I turned around. Jesy, Serena and Emily were too busy talking to Richard so I went over there. "Jade!" Leigh hugged me. "Sit, sit." I sat inbetween her and my friend Patricia Seymour.

"So what's up, guys?" I asked. "I got a boyfriend!" Pattie cheered. "Oh my God, yay!" I hugged her. "What's his name?" Leigh asked. "Sawyer Pickering." Pat said. "Ooh he's nice." Leigh said. "He's the best." Pat added.

"Hey guys!" My other friend Patience Reese came to the table. Pay was always finishing something for a class so we didn't see her very often. "Pay!" I cheered. "Jadey!" I got up and hugged her. "Jade can you do me a favour and braid my hair?" Pay asked. "Sure." I replied.

Jesy's POV

Richard had left our table. "Oh my God, that ugly Reese chick came into town." Serena and Patience had never liked each other. They had been enemies since 3rd grade. "Look, isn't that Jade braiding her hair?" Emily asked.

"What?!" I turned around. Jade was actually braiding Patience's hair.

I got up and stomped my way over there. "Jade!" She jumped and slowly turned around. "Hi Jesy." "Why are you braiding her hair?" I demanded. "I'm doing her a favor." Jade snapped. "You know I don't like you braiding someone else's hair." I tried to hide my jealousy but I couldn't.

"Ahem." Patience turned around. "Leave Jade alone, Jesy. I told her to braid my hair." My fists curled into balls.

Jade's POV

"Ahem." Patience turned around. "Leave Jade alone, Jesy. I told her to braid my hair."

Uh oh. I noticed Jesy's fists curling into balls. Leigh's eyes widened. "Shut up, Patience!" Jesy yelled. "Come on, Jade. We're leaving." "What about her hair?" I asked. "We're leaving!"

"It's alright, Jade. You can braid my hair in 4th block." Patience whispered in my ear. "Jade!" Jesy was getting to be impatient. "Alright, alright. I'm coming." I got up and went with Jesy back to our table.

"Sorry about lunch today, Patience. Jesy can be overprotective at times." I was once again braiding her hair after I got done with my assignment. "It's alright." Pay was working on her Geometry worksheet while I braided her hair. I was glad I sat behind her so I didn't have to move.

"Hey Jade. Look who just walked in." Lester Harris said. Lester is Patience's boyfriend and one of my good friends. I looked up. Jesy had walked in with a pass and a sheet of paper. I forgot that we had the same Geometry teacher.

"Afternoon, Ms. Nelson." My teacher, Mrs. B. Miles, said to her. "Just came to turn in my assignment. I'll be checking out tomorrow so I won't be in here." Jesy spoke. "Ok dear. Here's what you need." "Thanks."

I ducked my head before Jesy could see me but I could hear her walking my way. "Jade." Uh oh.
