A couple days later....

Lily: Which shade of pink should we get?

Alex: The baby probably can't tell the difference between shades of pink.

Lily: Which one!

Alex: Ugh fine, um, that one.

Alex pointed to a shade of pink that looked really nice for a nursery.  Lily smiled and went to find the color Alex selected. Alex shook her head.

Alex: Your step mom is crazy.

Lily came up behind her and gave her a slap on the arm.

Lily: I heard that!

Alex: (Cw) let's run!

Lily: Run? At this stage your run is more like a waddle.

Lily laughed as Alex rolled her eyes.

Alex: Are you calling me fat?

Lily: What no! It's just that this little ladybug makes you look like a penguin.

Lily poked Alex's stomach while laughing about what she just said. Alex rolled her eyes again and slapped Lily's hand away.

Alex: Did you get the paint?

Lily: Yep.

Alex nodded and watched Lily pick up the large paint can and put it in the cart.

Alex: I could have helped you with that.

Lily: No you couldn't.

Alex huffed and walked along side the cart while Lily pushed it. The two stumbled upon the baby section and Lily's eyes lit up. She ditched Alex and the cart, running through the selection of girls' clothes. She picked up random dresses and through them into the cart. Alex rolled her eyes for the third time that day and continuously took the clothes out, putting them back on the shelf.

Lily: What are you doing?

Alex: You don't have to buy this stuff.

Lily: Well I don't want our baby to be naked.

Alex: She already is naked!

Lily: Whatever. But look at this dress! It looks so cute!

Alex could admit, the dress did look cute. And a pair of socks she had seen, how could they be so small? The tall brunette imagined how her baby would look in tiny socks and a beautiful dress.

Alex: Okay fine, get whatever you want.

As Lily smiled like a goof and ran off, Alex noticed a pair of boot so small and cute. She gasped loudly and yelled for Lily. In the distance, boxes and possibly nice clothes fell to the floor and small hurried footsteps approached Alex.

Lily: What? What happened?!

Alex: Look at these cute boots!

Lily caught her breath then looked at Alex.

Lily: I thought there was something wrong with the baby!

Alex: There is! She's not wearing these boots!

Lily was the one to roll her eyes this time. She took the boots and put them in the cart.

Store person: Clean up in the baby department.

Lily: Oh shoot I have to go clean up the stuff I dropped.

The small girl ran off to grab everything and place a mountain of clothes and other essentials into the cart.

Lily: Okay, I think we're done.

Alex: Yea, let's go.

Lily: Next, painting the nursery!

Alex: Oh boy.
