Chapter 2: Getting to know you

[JOEYS POV]

So far, my first day at a new school went great...or atleast chemistry did. I met a guy named Shane, he was taller than me by a few inches, his hair was straight and swooped over ever so slightly, and his eyes were a beautiful ocean blue color. I had math with him next period. And I was determined to get to know him more.

I had math 4th period, and once the bell rang I began walking there. As I walked in I already saw Shane sitting down, and there was an empty seat next to him. I took the advantage to sit down next to him.

"Hey!" I said

"Hey! So how have you been liking the school so far?" He asked

"Um, it's pretty good, I made a few friends last period haha" I said, a bit awkwardly. I don't know why, he was so gorgeous I couldn't focus. Everytime I looked at him I felt something light up inside. It's almost as if I was in love with him or something..

"That's good" Shane replied looking in my eyes. I stared back and once I realized how awkward I was being I smiled and turned towards the teacher.

[SHANES POV]

I was so happy Joey sat next to me again, something about him made me want to get closer to him. So after math class I offered to walk him to the cafeteria hoping that he would agree to sit with Sawyer, Connor, Cat, Anthony and I.

"So this is the cafeteria" I said standing in front of the doors

"Wow, much bigger than the one in my other school" he replied

"Oh..cool..so you know, you're welcome to sit with me and my friends" I offered him

"Yeah t-to-totally!"he stuttered

"Alright, cool" I smiled walking to the table where my friends were already sitting

"Guys this is Joey, he's new here" I anounced to them pointing to Joey

"Hi" he waved and smiled slightly

We sat down next to eachother and he enjoyed the atmosphere while the rest of us talked. He was awfully shy for someone as hot as him.

After lunch I went to the rest of my classes like history, art, theater, and when the final bell rang I was walking to my car when I heard my name being called, I turned around and it was Joey, my face instantly lit up with excitement.

[JOEYS POV]

I saw Shane walking out of the school when I called his name, hoping that he was available after school.

"Hey Joey, what's up?" he asked

"Nothing, um, I was going to ask if you were like um busy or anything..." I paused

"You mean like later on today?" he asked. He seemed so chill and relaxed which made me want to be with him even more...man, he really was something special

"Yeah, like if you wanted to hang out or like get something to eat...or whatever" I said trying to calm down and act more cool like how he normally was

"Yeah sure, here, my car is parked over there" he said walking me to his car.

He opened the door and put his bag on the back seat, and as soon as I took my bag off my shoulders he took it from me "I got it" he said smiling, placing my bag next to his.

"Thanks" I said falling for him even more. I tried snapping out of it for a minute but as soon as he opened the passenger door for me, I was hooked.

He went around and sat in the drivers seat. He turned his car on and began driving out of the school parking lot.

"So where'd you move from?" he asked me

"Boston" I answered staring at him unconsciously but once I realized, I looked away

"Oh wow, pretty far away" he said

"Yeah, I like it over here in Arizona though" I said looking ahead at the road

"Me too" he said smiling at me

Fuck, why was he so hot...not only physically but the way he would act and talk to me. He definitely didn't seem like the type of douche bag typical senior guy, he seemed like a true gentleman, which was unusual for a senior.

The remainder of the car ride was just him asking me questions, getting to know me more. He pulled into his drive way and turned the car off and quickly got out and opened the car door for me.

"Wow what a true gentleman" I said laughing

He giggled and took my bag out of the back seat and handed it to me and took his bag and closed the door then locking the car.

He walked me to his front door and stepped in infront of me.

"Cool place you got" I said

"Yeah I guess so" he said placing his bag down in his living room and putting his car keys in his pocket.

I sat down in his kitchen waiting for him to come in and once he did he started offering me food and water and all that. He tried his best to comfort me which was strange because I wasn't really sure if he liked me or if he was just normally really proper and kind.

We hung out for another few hours, talking, eating, watching movies,and once the clock hit 8 I told Shane I probably should go home soon, shower and sleep.

"Why?" he asked,strangely upset

"Um, I..I have to get ready for tomorrow, you know..shower relax and all" I said

"Oh, okay well we should hang out more often, don't you think?" he asked me

"Yeah definetely!" I replied excitedly. Dammit Joey don't act all happy or else he'll think you're in love with him! "Um..I guess I'll just call my dad to come"

"Do you drive?" Shane asked me

"I have my license, I just don't have a car of my own...hopefully for Christmas or something I could get one" I answered

"Do you want me to drive you home?" he offered

"No no! You've done enough haha, it's fine I can just call my dad--" he lowered my phone from my hand

"It's fine, I'll be delighted to take you home. Don't worry" Shane said

I sat there mesmerized, but soon agreed to him. We walked to his car and he began driving as I told him where to go.

Once we reached my house he parked the car.

"Well, it was nice getting to know you, Joey" He said smiling

"Yes! Um, it was nice..knowing you and all, thank you by the way" I said

"Anytime" he replied

"Have a good night Shane" I said

"You as well" he replied back to me. I stepped out of his car and began walking to my house as he drove away leaving me a ton to think about later. What a dream he really was.
