Chapter 17: Christmas Day

CHRISTMAS DAY

[JOEYS POV]

Shane and I woke up pretty early Christmas morning, mainly because it was Christmas. We went downstairs and had breakfast. There weren't any young people in Shane's family so there weren't crazy decorations on the tree or anything. There also wasn't a ton of presents at the bottom of the tree either.

Shane's family and I sat down in the living room surrounding the tree.

"Okay, so, I have presents for both of you" Shane's mom said smiling, reaching for the presents and then handing them to us.

I started laughing when I opened mine. She got us matching watches with a tiny little rainbow on the inside.

"Aww, thanks haha" I said to her, while hugging her

"No problem sweetie"

"Okay okay, now mine" Shane said while holding a small box wrapped in gift wrapping, "I know it's small"

It really did look like an engagement ring

"Shane are you proposing?" I asked sarcastically. We all laughed and he replied

"No, not yet. Open it!"

I unwrapped the box and opened it. It was one of those 'dog chain' type of necklaces. It had words written on it. "Property of Shane 9-9-2013". He also got me a gift card to one of my favorite clothing stores. All Saints.

"Aw Shane!" I hugged him

"There's more to it. A note" he said

I looked into the box, and there was a small little piece of paper that read "I'll give you your other present tonight (;"

I laughed and then hugged him again. We continued opening presents, Jerid, then Shane's mom, then finally Shane. I waited until the end to finally give him his.

"Okay, now your turn Shane" I said, handing him a box, also wrapped.

He opened it smiling, and then gasped when he saw it. I had gotten him a Cannon Rebel T3i. I knew he started YouTube, so I figured he should probably get a better quality camera.

"Oh my god" he paused, "you're the best!" he squealed. He jumped up and gave me the biggest hug.

"Thank you so much" he said looking into my eyes

"No problem" I replied smiling

He leaned in and kissed me.

[SHANES POV]

Once we all finished opening our presents, we had to visit some of my family. But before all that we needed to change into better looking clothes. Joey and I headed into my room to change.

I laid down on my bed, as Joey was walking around the room looking for clothes. He was in his boxers. My eyes followed him the entire time as he looked through drawers, and old laundry.

"Have I ever told you you're absolutely beautiful?" I asked him

"Haha, yes you have Shane" he replied smiling

"Okay, just making sure" I said

He stopped looking for clothes and stood there staring at me, "Well, are you going to get dressed?" he asked

"I don't know what I wanna wearrr" I groaned

He crawled into bed right next to me and then pulled me up so that now we were both sitting up. He wrapped his hands around my waist.

"So who's house are we gonna visit?" he asked, his hands still wrapped around me

"My cousins. They're pretty chill" I answered
