I woke up and looked over to see Eric still lying next to me. He was facing me and his brown hair had fallen over his face. I smiled at him, even though he obviously couldn’t see it. I looked over at the clock it was 9:30. I looked up to the windows, the sun was pouring in through the windows lighting up my room. I noticed that Eric had got closer to me in his sleep. I slowly crept away from him when his arms snuck around my waist and I let out a small squeal in surprise as he pulled me to him. I lightly hit his chest and he woke up. He looked at me strange then smiled.

“How’d you get there?” he asked with fake confusion on his face.

“Eric, you grabbed me and put me here” I said un-amused and he frowned and let go of me.

“I did that? Shit, sorry” he said even though I could tell he wasn’t sorry snd it wasn't an accident.

“That’s nice, now let me go,” I said as his arms unfolded from me and I got up and swung my legs over the bed.

“We still going over to Tyler’s today?” Eric asked running his hands through his hair.

“Yeah when do you want to go?” I asked running a brush through my hair as I brushed it up into a ponytail.

“Want to go over after breakfast?” he asked getting up

“Sounds good to me,” I said “I’m going to get changed,” I said realizing I slept in the wet clothes because I was so upset and mentally exhausted. I got up grabbed a pair of clothes and let Eric walk out of the room before I shut it. I got out a white t-shirt and tan shorts, finishing up with a pair of sandals

I walked down stairs and poured a bowl of cheerios with milk and sat down across from Eric.

“Are you and Tyler ok now?” I asked taking another bite of cereal.

“Yeah he was just under a lot of stress as alpha and anger is hard to control as a wolf,” he said taking another bite.

“Oh, he’s the alpha? Oh who?” I said. There aren’t many other people out here

“Of the pack, his father was and the genes were passed down to him I guess. Which is just dirty luck. Whoever gets the alpha genes is up to the wolf. Like me, I’m not even from here and I was meant to be beta” he said, “We have a whole pack, you’ve probably met some people. When we have a pack meeting you’ll come and you’ll meet them,” he said

“Oh, wow. Ok then” is said finishing my food. “Are you ready?” I asked

“Sure” he said getting up and putting his bowl in the sink with me.

I opened the back door and set the alarm system on. We walked out and I locked the back door. I slipped my key in my back pocket and turned to Eric

“Do you want to walk or drive?” I asked still not used to walking everywhere.

“We can walk, its only about 5 minutes away” he said as we continued to walk in the woods

“Why do you walk everywhere?” I ask

“I don’t I only walk through the forest mostly. My wolf enjoys it and I have memorized this place”. He said looking around as we headed south.

“Is your wolf a person?” I asked 

“Someone’s wolf is like their conscience. It’s like a split personality. It can also be your guard. It can be released when you’re feeling extreme emotion.” he said and I remembered yesterday.

“So you are in control of your wolf when you shift?” I asked

“Depends, if I lose control, no. If I let the wolf take over then yes”. He said

“So when you leaped at me yesterday was that your wolf?’ I asked remembering falling off the cliff.

“Well, kind of. I mean, I saw you and wanted to tell you to stop but it was to late and my wolf is a bit protective of you so it took over instead. I leaped at you to try to catch you. When I brought you up to air that was my wolf”. He said finishing right as we reached the house.

I walked up and knocked on the door to see Tyler. Once he saw me his eyes widened.

“Alice?” he asked and looked behind me at Eric too. “What’s going on?”

“Is Jessica here?” I asked

“Yeah she’s upstairs-,” he said pointing the stairs and I walked inside and up the stairs. “Hey!” I hear him complain and snickered.

I walked over to the room I assumed was Tyler’s and Jessica’s and knocked. Jessica opened the door in a tank top and pajama shorts but she looked wide-awake. Once she saw me she smiled.

“Hey! What’s up? Here come inside here. The boys don’t need to hear anything” she said smiling as she pulled me inside.

“Did I wake you or-?” I said before she rushed to assure me.

“Oh no! I was up here sorting clothes actually. But what’s up? What about you and Eric?” she asked wiggling her eyebrows.

“Actually that’s what I wanted to talk to you about” I said and paused, what if she didn’t know about werewolves? Oh well Tyler was getting married to her, she should know. “You know what Tyler is right?” I asked

“Oh he finally told you? Of course silly I am one after all,” she said smiling. She closed her eyes and reopened them revealing a lighter blue then her eyes had originally been. “Whoa. What was that?” I asked 

“That was my wolf. That’s what my eyes look like when she takes over” she said

“Has Tyler told you about me?” I asked

“Oh yes! Were mates? Mates tell each other everything whether they like it or not” she said. “Now what is it you needed to tell me?”

“How do you know who your mate is?” I asked and she squealed happily when my aunt busted in the room

“I know... I knoow, you weren’t about to have a girl talk without me,” she said smiling
