Chapter 10

“Wait. I’m your what?”I asked pulling away from him

“You’re my mate,” he said frowning, obviously not liking me pulling away from him his blue eyes shining with confusion

“How do you know? I mean maybe your wrong” I replied a starting to panic.

His eyes darkened and he grabbed my sides and pulled me to him and I felt like I was humming with electricity. “I’m not wrong. Can’t you feel that? Your mine, not Jensen’s... MINE” he said coldly pulling me in closer for a kiss but I swerved out of his grasp and poured some noodles into my now boiling water and got out a can of tomato sauce and poured it into another pot as I heated that up. I put my hands on the counter as I said

“Don’t, don’t do that. I’m not your mate you’re mistaken”. I said and remembered how my hand felt in Jensen’s. I get the same buzz as Eric’s, but that’s not possible right? I sighed as I ran my hands through my hair.

“Why? Are you rejecting me?” he asked, his voice strong I could hear the sadness in his voice.

“Eric’s it’s not that...” I said feeling guilty but knew I couldn’t tell him. “I’m just tired and hungry,” I said plastering on a fake smile. “We’ll talk about this later, no ones rejecting anyone”. As I drained my noodles and got some noodles on a plate and poured a tiny bit of meat sauce on it and ate like no tomorrow. When was my last meal? Yesterday. Yesterday afternoon was my last meal. How am I alive? It looked like he was about to say something but he closed his eyes and just offered me a smile instead.

“Ok”

Who could I talk to about this? I could talk to Tyler but I’m pissed at him. I should also be pissed at my aunt and the rest of my family. But they weren’t my family so I can’t call them that. I felt a wave of sadness crash over me again at the thought. Then it hit me. Jessica. She’s another girl, she would understand, and Tyler’s her mate right? She would know what it feels like! Perfect! “I’m going to go over to Tyler’s for a little bit”. I said getting up and putting my dishes in the sink and I turn around to see Eric doing the same and I raised an eyebrow.

He smiled and said “I still need to get my stuff and it’s to dark for you to go alone” Hey, I wasn’t complaining. I thought to myself, but I just offered him a smile.

“I’m going to go get dressed first” he said, I looked down and he was only wearing a pair of pants and it looked like he found them in the woods because there were bits of dirt still clinging to them. I looked at mine; my shirt was still half wet from the water I fell in. I should probably change too. “Wait, do you even have any clothes over here?” I asked confused

“Oh, um no. I had it packed but then Tyler…” he said and I remembered the fight, it had been a long day. Speaking of which, what time was it?

“Eric do you know what time it is?” I asked as I decided to rinse off some of the dishes so it wouldn’t stain the plates.

“I’ll go check” I heard him say as he made his way into the hallway. After a couple minutes he didn’t come back and I turned off the water and dried off my hands and walked over to the hallway to see Eric staring at the card in his hand.

“Eric what’s wrong?” I asked as I walked over to him just to where I sat Jensen’s card when I came downstairs.

“Why do you need Jensen’s number?” he asked his voice neutral.

“He asked me out to dinner so we could catch up sometime, he wrote down his number so I could get a hold of him” I said trying to sound regular. There’s nothing wrong with two old friends going out to dinner.

“And when were you planning on telling me?” he asked

“ I guess I would tell you when I was going out but other then that I don’t see how its your business” I said frowning

“You’re my mate! You are my business!” he said looking at me

“First of all we don’t know that for sure, it could be a mistake and you don’t decide who I go out to dinner with! Its dinner!” I said even though I remembered Jensen’s kiss. It was just goodbye kiss though.

He stalked over to me “Alice please tell me your not seriously planning on going to dinner with him” he said I didn’t say anything to him and his expression became solid

“Its to late to go to Tyler’s I’ll go in the morning” I said and I walked upstairs and shut my door. I looked over at my digital clock that said it was 11:00 pm. that’s all I wanted to know…
