Chapter 19

We walked upstairs silently. We entered a random room and he closed the door with his nose.

‘I'll look in this corner and you look in that one yeah?’ he said

Jeazus, was he so disgusted with me that he didn’t want to even look at me?

‘Baby... its because when we change we are naked so I don’t want to- I mean its not like you aren’t beautiful I just didn’t want to invade your privacy’ he said babbling making me smile.

‘How do I shift back?’ I asked

‘Focus on your human body’ he said 

I pictured the human me and focused on every detail of it. I heard and felt my bones cracking back into place. I noticed that Eric had found clothes for me and put them on the bed for me. He was now changing with nothing but boxers on. I was in the midle of putting on a t-shirt and some shorts, I slowly turned to him as he was pulling a white shirt over his head. He was now fully clothed with some khaki shorts. I bit my lip when I wondered how to ask him.

“Are you ok?’ he asked

“Do you not like me anymore?” I questioned him while looking down

“What? Why would I not like you?” he demanded taking a step closer

“Because I’m a freak” my voice was cracking

“YOU are not a freak!” he insisted pulling me into a hug “You’re special, I liked you before you phased  and I still like you. You haven’t changed at all, your still a beautiful, nice, and funny girl. You’re my mate and I will always... he trailed off

I sniffed as I looked into his sparkling blue eyes “You’ll always what?” I asked

He looked down at me as he slowly leaned in to press his lips to mine-

“Hey Eric we need…” Jessica said trailing off looking at us as I backed away and Eric just looked plain agitated.

“What do you need Jessica?” he asked sounding angry

“Uh, we need you and Alice to come downstairs” she continued looking anywhere but us. “I’m just going to go..”  she said awkwardly as she walked backwards from the doorway and left.

“They need us downstairs” I stated trying to make up a conversation for us to leave, though, my heart was beating insanely fast just because I was standing near him.

“Yeah” he said as he followed me downstairs.

My uncle and Tyler looked to be having a very important conversation when I walked over they suddenly stopped and started staring at me.

“Alice can you come over here?” My uncle asked

I slowly walked over to where they were, afraid to meet their eyes. “Can you explain to me how you sucked the life out of that deer in the woods?” my uncle continued while Tyler stood there still with no emotion.

“I bit it because my wolf told me to” I said

“But you didn’t eat it? How is that possible?” my uncle asked trying to understand the siuation himself.

“I don’t know but I don’t feel hungry anymore...I bit into it with my fangs”. I said not knowing how to explain it anymore.

“Can you show me?” my uncle asked

“I-I don’t know they came out when I bit that guy-” I said remembering the attack before I was cut off.

“You bit somebody?” Tyler asked shocked.

“I didn’t want to but he was chaining me up in a van after these doctors gave me a shot that made me dizzy and I needed to escape so I kinds bit him” I said nervously laughing.

“This was at doctors appointment they told Shannon scheduled?” my uncle asked completely serious

“Yeah” I answered

“She never scheduled an appointment Alice, that means you walked right into a trap and now they’ll know you’ve evoved” Tyler said running his hands through his hair roughly.

“Evolved?” I asked looking around

“Alice, honey open your mouth” my uncle commanded “Let me see what type of fangs you have” my uncle said and I opened my mouth. He searched my mouth. “It looks normal. You said the only way they come out is if you feel endangered or your feeding?” he asked. The way he said feeding made me cringe.

“Yes I believe so. I don’t know how though” I explained right as I said that I was slammed up against the wall. My breath was knocked out of me when I felt my head connect to the wall. I heard feirce growling and saw Tyler holding Eric back from attacking my uncle.

“TOM!” my aunt screamed but Jessica covered her mouth. My uncle barred his teeth at me as his wolf started coming out. I freaked even more when he went to bite my neck. I hissed and pushed him off of me, which made him fly back a couple feet.

My uncle smiled “Good girl, now let me see” he said going for my mouth again.
