I speak the truth in Christ--I am not lying, my conscience confirms it through the Holy Spirit- Romans 9:1

Christopher 8pm

The day went on until the time that I dreaded the most, having dinner with Vonciere and her parents, like she said she would, she bought Genesis with her.

We all sat in the dining room that me and my parents don't enter unless we have company.  Sitting at the oval table with everyone I tried to keep my mouth shut the whole time, to keep myself from doing something I'd regret. Vonciere knew that sitting across from the kid ain't sit well with me to begin with, but being her natural bubbly self, she knew how to cover up a lie.

"So Vonci I heard you got accepted into that performing arts school, congratulations!" My mom said cheery with a smile. "Thanks" Vonciere said with a small smile back. Everyone was confused by her mood change. "Well what's wrong aren't you happy?" I spoke up for the first time tonight.

"I am.. It's just that I don't know if I'm really gonna go, it's so far from home, in New York which is a big city--" "We've both applied for Dillard over the summer, she's waiting on her acceptance letter form them she can decide" Genesis chimed in placing her arm around her. She tensed up by his touch, he watched me with a despising glare.

"Oh.. Well okay, I completely get it yall. We didn't stop til we went to the same college right David?" My mother laughed. Dad nodded "absolutely, I was the one who convinced her of Ohio Christian, which is where Christopher is attending next fall"

I wanted to roll my eyes but chose not to just grinning it off. "That's wonderful, a Christian environment too" Vonciere's mother nodded. "I'm sure you miss it already , speaking of that how's school going son?" Her father asked me taking a drink. Everyone's eyes laid on me. I licked  my lips before speaking "Its cool. I uh, joined Choir, a couple art classes" Eventhough my dad wasn't gonna be happy about that I went with it

"You're not gonna play football this year? You were the bomb, we won every game last year" Vonciere said. I smiled, then sighed "I don't know if I'ma play this year". She nodded . I looked over to my dad who was watching me stare at Vonciere talking about football, I realized I forgot to speak to him about it too. I'll hear about it later.

"Well it's a shame, you're a beast" Vonciere's dad pats me on the back. "What positon you play?" Suddenly Genesis felt the need to bud in. He looked my up and down to get to me. "Wherever I fit.. why?" I questioned him.He shrugged "I was just wondering.. I play Quarterback for the team now" Before I switched schools Genesis played for our whack ass basketball team. He wasn't that good just like the rest of them. Vonciere did go to all of my games unlike all of his which made him bitter.

"See? you guys have something in common after all" My mom says. I tucked my bottom lip in my mouth trying to keep myself from saying something smart. "Maybe you guys could practice together sometime" Vonciere said. With that I began to laugh because she knew my attitude towards him unlike my mother did. "I don't think so" I said

"Why? Pretty boy scared to get hit, I don't hit that hard if that's what you worried about" He smirked, irking my nerves. I closed my eyes trying to pray the bad words away that wanted to spew out of my mouth. "Gen stop" Vonciere said to him laughing like an idiot.
