One year ago today, at 7pm, December 30th, 2016, you died.
My fur brother, my baby boy, my best friend.
I'll never forget the times you've saved our lives. I'll never forget the time when I had my whole class make cards for you when you got fixed. I'll never forget everyday coming home from school and doing my homework while rolling on the floor with you. I'll never forget waking up in the middle of the night because of a nightmare and you were there, snoring away. I'll never forget when I left a jelly packet in my schoolbag and when I emptied it out on the last day, you went in the bag face first trying to get the jelly. I'll never forget all those weddings we had together because I loved you so much. I'll never forget all the bloody bandaids you tried to eat from off our skin, all the bloody wounds you tried to make better by licking the blood. I'll never forget all the bugs and squirrels you tried eating. I'll never forget all the snowy days when you rolled in the snow. I'll never forget all the hats I tried to put on you. I'll never forget your love for kids and other people.
And of course, I'll never forget the day we got you. I will never forget your love for your people, and all those days that you protected us.
The day you crossed over the rainbow bridge, a part of my soul was torn into pieces.
