"You're awake." Chiron stated. He leaned forward in his seat, wonder clear in his eyes. He spoke warmly, like a father's embrace as he welcomed his child to his home. Mr. D sat quietly, watching the girl with caring eyes — eyes with an expression Will had only seen when he looked at Castor and Pollux, his own sons.
(Y/n) shifted in her place, "Um, yes. It appears that I am...awake." She laughed nervously, glancing at around the pavilion. All the campers' attention were divided on her and their food, which unsettled her. She didn't want to be the talk of the town, especially since she's new. Meanwhile, Mr. D held out his hand, gently gesturing for her to come forward.
As if pushed by an invisible force, (Y/n) stumbled to the front. Will grabbed her arm to stop her from tripping.
"Nasty dryads." He muttered distastefully, narrowing his eyes towards a young elfin girl who disappeared into a green billowed smoke. "You okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine." She smiled shakily as he let go of your arm. (Y/n) squinted her eyes as she walked towards Mr. D. His shirt was so loud she could barely see a thing.
"Come, let me see you." Mr. D said gently. Just a couple of minutes ago, he had wanted to turn her into a donkey now he was acting as if he was her long lost father. She shuddered at the thought of that possibility and she wished that she was wrong.
He placed his finger under her chin, examining her face. Every mole, every pore, every inch of her face. When he was finished, (Y/n) were surprised to find tears in his eyes. She was even more surprised that Chiron, the supposed centaur in the wheelchair, was beaming with pride.
"You haven't changed one bit," Mr. D sniffed as he sipped his Diet Coke.
"Pardon me sir?" (Y/n) asked. Chiron cleared his throat, his serious face back on.
"Will, can you take (Y/n) to the Hermes cabin?" The brown haired man asked, wheeling himself out of the table. "We should get you settled before the campfire starts."
"Is Hermes my dad?" She asked, staring down at the man who sat in front of her. His kind brown eyes twinkled with amusement.
"No, dear. Since you are still unclaimed by your parent, it is only right that the god of travellers will take you in for the time being. Now, run along so that you'll have time to eat before the sing-along."

Will walked you to the Hermes table, which was placed near the edge of the pavilion. Will's eyes were wide, the whole time he had been silent not being able to say the things he had wanted to say.
"What just happened there?" He asked, bewildered. He had never seen Mr. D so caring about a camper. Everyone knows that Mr.D hates heroes, and under no circumstance will he ever be fond of a hero but he sure was fond of her and Will wondered why.
(Y/n) shrugged, wide eyed as she fell back into step with Will. "I don't know either." She whispered to him. Her heart raced dangerously, she sure thought that he — Dionysus — would still have the brain to change her into an ass. She was scared...and hungry. It took more than 20 minutes and she had expected to be eating as soon as they arrived in the pavilion. Just looking around at all the dishes that the kids ate made her stomach boil.
"So where's this Hermes table anyway. I'm starving."
"Right there. Come on, I'll introduce you." Will pointed to a group kids who were laughing at each other. You wouldn't think they were siblings at all at first glance, they all looked so different from each other. But they all had that mischievous smiles that would make you think twice about having a bag. "Travis!"
