There it was! It looked just like on the pictures. At least from the outside, there wasn’t much to do. The house needed a paint job and the garden must be fixed. Then we walked inside. Everything was covered with white cloths and it seriously looked like the house of a vampire, I thought with a smirk. I took a tour of the upper rooms, whereas Carlisle inspected the rooms downstairs. It had four bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs. Everything looked just like downstairs, I sighed; we seriously had some work to do! But the essential things were still intact and the work could actually start in the next few weeks.

I was now standing in the master bedroom, which will be our room. In the center of the room stood a massive bed with a canopy and the entire back wall was covered with shelves, sometimes books, but most of all enough space for Alice’s shopping items. I giggled and walked through the room imagining it after the renovation. I loved the antique flair and the design of the house, but we might have to add some rooms. I thought it all through and stood next to the immense window, covering almost the entire wall. I could only see trees and a lake in the background. The wind moved every leaf and created little waves on the water. I could really get used to this place, the place where the Cullen family was created. The next moment a sudden gust of wind appeared and I shivered. I might have actually chosen the wrong outfit after all. I clutched my arms against my chest and decided to find my loving husband.

He already seemed to expect me. He stood on the stairs ready to escort me downstairs. I smiled and took his hand. I still shivered a bit, when we descended the stairs. “Are you cold?” Carlisle asked a little unsure. “Yes, I might have taken a thicker jacket for the evening. I’m not really used to choosing clothes according to the weather,” I admitted, embarrassed. “Here, take mine. I should have thought about it and bought you a jacket,” he said, scolding himself. I took his jacket thankfully and sniffed on the collar. I sighed, it smelled exactly like Carlisle. But I didn’t like the way he scolded himself, after all it was my fault. “It’s okay,” I said and hugged his side. He laid his head on mine and kissed my hair.

The rest of the evening we spent in a fancy restaurant. I had to remind myself to eat more often now, so I was quite confused when my stomach began to grumble, not mentioning Carlisle’s expression. After that he towed me to that restaurant to get some food into my system. And I must say, I already start to get used to human food, it’s actually very delicious. What is not so funny is that Carlisle is still observing me while eating, he finds it fascinating. But he will get used to it as well (I hope!).
