9~The secret is out

"So...wanna tell us why we had to lie to the boys about being busy?" Izzy looked directly at Lydia, the girl had asked to talk to them, so naturally they set up a girls night at the Lightwood household.

"Yeah, you know how much Izzy loves going out" Clary gave her a stern look, warning her that this better be important for them to ditch a night out.

"It's about Alec" Lydia went straight for it, not wanting to waste any more time.

"What's happened now?" Izzy groaned sinking into he beanbag, ready to soak in whatever story that's been prepared.

"It's just...he's been a little off lately" she began, not entirely sure how to explain it.

"This is Alec we're talking about" Izzy said, not seeing the big deal about their little problem.

"But it's like...since Magnus got here he's been extra closed off, and doesn't have any time for me" Lydia looked down at her hands, afraid to look at them.

"But...he said you went out last week" Clary stated, remembering Alec rushing out the house yelling at them where he was going.

"No, I didnt" Lydia suddenly looked up, not knowing this part.

"But he said he was going on a date" Izzy stated, getting more confused by the second, someone is obviously getting their wires crossed.

"Well, we haven't spent any time together since the night before school started" Lydia told them, pulling her knees up to her chest.

Izzy ran everything through her head, all the moments leading up to today, every night where Alec would return home with those shit eating grins, that she had just assumed were because of Lydia.

"Oh shit" she said suddenly, eyes going wide when she figured it out.

"What is it?" Clary looked over at her best friend, intrigued to know what she just figured out.

"He's been with someone else, this entire time...wow" she muttered, unsure if she should be ashamed or impressed that her brother managed to pull someone, in such a short amount of time.

"Alec isn't a cheater" Lydia stated, both girls looked at her with a grimace look on each of their faces "He wouldn't, would he?"

"My brother has been hiding something deep inside, knowing how catastrophic the consequences could be" Izzy stated, regret covering her face for never talking about that time with Alec.

"You mean...that secret?" Clary asked, remembering back to Magnus' party, and what Simon shared with them.

"How come am I the only one who is left out of the loop, what is it?" she asked, getting impatient, especially since the two girls sitting in front of her know.

"The ever flamboyant Magnus Bane" Izzy joked, erupting a chuckle out of Clary.

"What's Magnus got to do with this?" the girl was completely oblivious, so they decided to give her a few seconds to see if she could figure it out herself "Oh, oh..." she said, the realization finally hitting her.

"Finally" Izzy sighed, rolling her eyes at how long it took.

"He's only been here a week...that fast?" Lydia wasn't sure if she was 100% in on the story.
