I'm so sorry for being gone for so long, honestly I've j lost inspiration for the book. But I'll try to finish it before school starts back up if I can stay inspired.

Mercedes P.O.V

My alarm goes off awakening me from my slumber. I look up to see genesis already in the restroom applying her makeup for the day.

A cunning smile makes its way onto my lips as I imagine how the mascara she was now applying would soon be running down her face staining her cheeks.

"Hey" I greeted as I stationed myself into the restroom next to her.

She looked at me through the mirror and a flash of jealousy was visible in her eyes before it quickly dissipated.

"Morning." She spoke as she continued brushing her lashes through the bristles of her mascara.

I focused my attention away from her as I began applying my own makeup whilst continuously running the plan for today through my head.

Everything had to be perfectly executed at the right timing or this could go terribly wrong. Nothing could be out of place, there could be no loose ends, not a single flaw.

"So my birthdays coming up" Genesis spoke, breaking the silence.

My eyes fixate on her and a wave of guilt washes over me.

Her birthday? Nobody deserve this on their birthday.

"Oh really when is it?" I ask as I begin to bake my face.

"In two days, I got a letter a couple of days ago and I'm getting out in like two weeks. So I don't know if I should celebrate on the day of or when I get out."

Two days?

"I say to celebrate when you get out, so then you can be with your family and friends from back home." I speak even though i know that after today she won't be leaving anytime soon.

"Yeah but then I won't be able to celebrate with all my friends here, like you and aurora. I mean after all my parents are the ones who sent me away. You guys are my real family."

I immediately break eye contact with her, and focus on the painful silence that just engulfed us.

Maybe I shouldn't do this, she's getting out soon and her birthdays coming up. Maybe I can let it go this one time.

"Who's at the door?" Genesis asked, breaking me from my thoughts.

I must've been so deep in thought that I didn't even hear it.

"I'll get it" I spoke, removing myself from the building tension.

I make my way to the door before revealing Aurora on the other side. Her smile held so much deceit and vengeance.

Is this really what I want to do?

"Are you ready? It's all going down today"

A sigh escapes from my lips as I shake my head no.
