Arabella found herself standing on the balcony of the Astronomy tower, out of all the places in the castle it was one of her favorites. The end of the year feast was going on at that very moment but she couldn't bring herself to attend. She knew that it was a good thing that the chamber of secrets had been sealed once again, but how were people going about their lives like everything was okay again. How were they just going to act as if it was all over? Two of her friends had almost died, and they were currently in the great hall laughing and having a good time.
As much as she wanted to join she just couldn't get the thought out of her head. Harry and Ginny almost died, and she felt utterly useless because she had no way to have helped prevent the situation. Quickly blinking the tears away she turned and headed down the stairs. She desperately needed to not be in the castle right now.
"A Silvercrest does not show such weak emotions," she said quietly to herself. Her eyes were teary but a look of frustration was written all over her face. "It leaves you vulnerable just as Aunt Victoria said." Just as she turned down a corridor a door appeared to her left causing her to stop in her tracks.
Now, strange things have happened at Hogwarts and a surprise door was probably the least strange she'd encountered this year. And though she knew that it was probably another empty classroom she couldn't help but feel her heart beating in her chest.
"It's just a door," she said softly to herself. Arabella gently pushed open the door expecting to find a dark dusty classroom. Instead, she was met with the soft sound of music and the glow of warm light.
"Hello?" there were herbs in pots, several cauldrons, pillows upon the floor, and books scattered here and there. Walking in further she saw that someone had quickly scattered from pieces of paper being thrown around.
Without much movement, she pulled her want out and turned quickly pointing it at the person who was sneaking up behind her. "Larken?"
"Silvercrest you're lucky I'm hungry or you would've ended up with a cauldron cake to the face." The Hufflepuff had a small smile on her face a cauldron cake in one hand, her wand in the other.
"Wha-you have your wand drawn.." The brunette was confused as to what was going on, she definitely did not expect to see Larken of all people.
"I do, but it's not in my dominant hand so you see Cauldron cake." She lifted up her left hand before taking a bite. "What brings you to the room of requirements Silvercrest?"
"Wait, this is the room of requirements?" she placed her wand back in its place before taking another look around. "It doesn't seem full of junk like most people say it is."
"The room appears to those in need, with what they need. I just so happen to have been using this to make potions and hide ingredients from Snape. Why it appeared to you, I have no clue." Larken moved past the brunette back to her spot on the floor. "But I would love to find out."
Arabella continued to stand until Larken motioned for her to join. Joining the Hufflepuff in the pile of pillows she stayed quiet fiddling with her sleeve contemplating whether or not to tell her about what was going on. They'd only had a handful of interactions after all.
"So, have you done anything interesting lately?" was all she managed to get out. Larken was mid-bite before she started laughing. "What? What couldn't you possibly find so funny?" Arabella clenched her jaw before she moved to get up. Once Larken noticed this, she grabbed ahold of her arm.
