Arabella found herself spending more and more time within the "rival" house. And every time she found herself there her time was always spent full of laughter and fun. Today, she was there simply to study with Hermione and Gia but apparently, there were other plans. All a ploy to get Harry to ask her to a picnic she was 99% sure that Hermione helped organize.

But now here she was, Harry, walking down the hill with a bright smile on his face as he looked back to see Arabella trailing after him her hair slightly blowing behind her, eyes closed against the warm sun. The two hadn't gotten a chance to catch up or rather converse without their friends breathing down their necks. But finally, they had gotten away and made their way to the black lake. A basket in hand Arabella smiled as they made their way to the shore. The water lapped gently its shimmering surface refracting light as if a hundred coins floated below its surface. After watching Harry struggle to place the blanket down due to the wind they finally took their seat after a bit of teasing.

"I-erm, I want to thank you?" at the sudden sound of Harry's voice, Arabella perked up confusion settling on her face.

"For what?" she gave a small smile leaning her head on her knees as she took in his features. How his copper skin seemed to glow in the late afternoon light, his green eyes... felt as if Arabella was swimming through a field of seaweed and couldn't find her way back up for air. His hai-, she was brought back out of her thoughts when he spoke again.

"For being so kind to me, I-I never really had friends, let alone people who cared about me. And I just know that regardless of how short or long we've known each other I will always be thankful I bumped into you in Diagon Alley." he had turned slightly to hide his oncoming blush, his glasses rising slightly as he attempted to bury his face in his sleeve. He's nervous...

She hummed a response looking to the Black Lake before speaking, "And I, you. I only ever had Cetus, my relatives would "get rid of me" if they could if you catch my drift. So bumping into you that day was the best thing that happened in this miserable life of mine." Once again turning to Harry she saw him staring as if he was trying to remember every detail of her. This time her delicate face erupted in an explosion of crimson, she became frazzled as she pipped out a squeak.

"I hope this doesn't come off as weird or creepy, but I'm so thankful we met Bells. I wouldn't want to run into anyone else." his soft smile brought a swarm of butterflies flapping violently in the pit of her stomach.

"Not weird or creepy at all, I've had the same thought ever since that day. It sounds so lame and cheesy but I felt like it was destined. In some sick way, I believe it was fate if that doesn't sound absolutely disgusting." her nose scrunched up at the last sentence. "Merlin's beard Harry, look what you've got me doing. I feel so gross." she shuddered looking at their untouched lunch. Her stomach lurched, how could she eat when she felt so weak?

"It's not always a bad thing Bells. Sometimes talking about how we feel can make things better. We don't have to suffer and wallow all the time, we're allowed to be happy you know?" she chuckled catching the boy off guard.

"You really are something else, Harry. Cetus would really like you, I just know it. He says the same thing, about deserving to be happy regardless of all the terrible stuff occurring around us. It's hard to be happy when it feels like you have no one."

"But that's not true right?" his hand reached for hers giving a reassuring squeeze. "You have Cetus, me, Ron, Hermione, Fred, George, and so many more. Before coming to Hogwarts I felt alone too. But then I met some wonderful people who liked me for me. Who didn't see a waste of space, something to keep under the stairs. My life before all this was miserable, but I never let it get me down. And I know, that regardless of how sad or hard life gets you'll be able to overcome it. But remember sometimes we need help, we need our friends."

Even though she was still smiling tears almost flooded over her bottom lashes. This caught Harry off guard as he began to frantically wave his hands around. "I am so sorry, I didn't mean to make you cry!" he became flustered, "It's just that I-I really want you to kno-" his sentence was cut off as Arabella leaned in, grabbing him in a hug. But as soon as it happened it was over leaving Harry with an agape mouth and the brunette cackling.

"You're the sweetest person I know Harry. Though it might not seem like it you give me hope to live a happy life... you inspire me. Because regardless of how you were treated growing up, you found your place. I might have not known you before but you seem happier, you seem like you can breathe." this time he chuckled placing a hand upon his curly mop of hair.

"You're too kind really, but what makes you think you haven't found your place." This brought her to complete silence.

"I–" she was at a loss for words, "Don't know."

"Well, until you figure it out I'll be here, okay?" her grey eyes stared out at the Black Lake as she tried to gather herself. The scent of quidditch gear wafted off of him and his shampoo, basil, and green tea.

          "Thank you," she said quietly

"Well, good. How about we eat hm? Hopefully it hasn't gone cold."

Soon the two delved into a comforting silence. The only sound was the water hitting the shore and the occasional sound of a creature nearby. Eventually, the sun began to fall below the tree line leaving the sky in an array of beautiful hues. Arabella had laid down staring up at the clouds, how she longed to be up there with no cares in the world. Soon the sky darkened, black and blue expanding freckled with white stars. She had been in her own world before she was brought back to reality narrowly missing a shooting star.

"Arabella?" she turned her head to find Harry looking down at her,

          "Hm?"

"Could you tell me about the stars?" suddenly her attention was caught and she was hastily sitting up.

"What do you want to know?" a tinge of excitement in her voice,

"Everything." this made her laugh, "What?"

"Well, everything is going to take a long time. How about I start by telling you about the brightest star in the sky?" the boy nodded his head eagerly, her smile widening as she raised her hand into the air, slender fingers reaching towards the fragments above.

"That," she motioned to a light noticeable among the others. "Is the star, Sirius. It's also known as the Dog Star or Sirius A. The name means "glowing" in Greek — a fitting description if I do say so myself. And I do." after delving into the historical significance of the star Arabella noticed the soft sounds of snores coming from beside her. Harry had fallen asleep.
