The truth

I woke up to find something heavy on my waist also resting on my neck. I tried to turn my head but I couldn't as I noticed Jai's head was crooked into my neck. Also his arm was wrapped around my waste. I need to get up so I could look pretty.

I turn my face then bam my lips met his. Shit! I quickly pulled away and hid my face under the covers while trying to move away. He pulled me back closer to him.

"That's the best wake up I ever had" his husky voice said in my ear.

I just smiled but I kept hidden from. He pulls the covers over both our heads and he hovered over me. I raised my eyebrows at him as he starts to lean down. Before his lips met mine, I heard a dog bark. Jai rolled off me as a white dog jumped up at us.

"Lala, how are you girl?" I cooed at her.

"How did you know her name?" Jai asked me in shock.

"It just came to me like I knew her my whole so you know" I shrugged it off.

"We need to get ready for the dance competition" He says while nudging me.

"Wow you are excited for this" I smile at him.

"Yeah because I get to dance with you" He gently spoke to me.

I got up then tied my hair back as I put light make up on my face. I went downstairs to see everyone eating in the kitchen. I gave a small wave but they looked in shock. I look down and I realise there's nothing wrong.

"I'm gonna and get my dance stuff, Jai would it be okay if you can give me a lift?" I asked him.

"I can drop you off if you want" He grins at me.

"My house is only down this road so don't worry but thanks" I wave to him. "See you at ..."

"12:30 so in a hour" He informs me.

After saying my goodbyes to everyone, I took a stroll down to my house with my suitcase dragging along. When I arrived I open the door to seeing mum, dad and Chelsea sitting on the sofa watching tv. I slowly upstairs so they didn't know I was here.

I put on my blue/green dress on with a leotard underneath just incase for any lifts. I grabbed a ribbon and tied it to my hair. I noticed my phone on my bed where I lift it last. I picked it up and saw I still have the message that 'Jai' sent me. I looked at the time and saw it was 12:25.

I choose to grab this necklace to be used as our prop. I kept listening to this song which I recognise from years ago. I made my way downstairs then I knocked into someone. Mum.

"Ashley, why are you here?" She asked me.

"Sorry mum but I kinda know when I'm crazy or not" I spat at her.

"You shouldn't be here" She states to me.

I heard a beep from outside so I went towards the door. Before I could open the door, mum grabbed my hand. I looked at her then yanked my hand away from her.

"Who is that? Who's waiting for you?" She questioned me.

"Jai, Jai Brooks" I bluntly told her.

"You are not allowed to see that boy" She growled at me.

"Sorry mum but his my dance partner and possible might be my boyfriend in the future" I explain to her.

"As I'm the adult, Im saying no and your not going to that dance competition" She shouts at me.

"Watch me" I spat at her.

I opened the door and made run for it towards the car. When I got in the car I told Jai to drive. He drove at normal speed but not at fast pace. I grabbed my phone and played the song out loud to him.

"Ash, you know...."

/Flashback\

"... I never wanted to dance with you" J says to me while grabbing my hand.

We were sitting in the back of his mums car as she drove us to this dance competition which my mum is making me do. I did feel hurt by him saying that. So I asked him why he said that.

"Because I want to be in crowd cheering your name while saying thats my girl" He smiles at me.

"Aww this is why I love you" I planted a kiss on his lips.

"Love you too"

We pull up to this hall place thing. We both got out of the car and held each others hand as we walked in. I saw the blonde girl who hates me for dating J. She glares at me but I just gave her a smile.

We waited for our turn to dance. The lady shouted out our number for us to dance. We walked in and took a deep breath. We separated ourselves to start the dance. He was one side on the room and I was on the other.

The music started to play he strolls over then rub his head against my back while placing his arm over my shoulder. He shows the necklace. I bend down then I leaned back while walking away from him. I turn away but he turns me back round and place the necklace in my hand.

I lean forward and held my right leg down for balance. I was able to do the splits standing. I run then drop the necklace, he grabbed the necklace and holds my hand as I kick my leg into a spin. He spun me around then I ran and slid onto the floor which he copies.

I pretend to hit him so he lays down then I hover over him. We got up and did a mirror dance. I ran over to him and did a 360 jump then he caught me. We did a couple more lifts and turns. There was a small fight dance then he lifted me. After he put me down gently, he places the necklace around my neck. I lay down on the floor as he lays on top of me then slides down. He sat up which I copied behind him. He turns his head then we kissed.

The music stopped. There was clapping and cheering all over the room. I did a bow and so did J. The judges tried to talk but the crowd were to loud.

"Guys, this dance did match your description about how best friends fall in love" This old man says.

"You, Jai Brooks. I can see that this dance meant something to you and probably to her" The woman said to us.

My boyfriend scratches the back of his neck then explained how its about us because we have been friends since the beginning.

J is Jai Brooks. As my dance partner Jai. I realised during my space out time I already did the dance with Jai as if we were replaying it. I turned to Jai as the judges spoke to us.

It hit me. He looks like that boy in my flashback. I felt tears stroll down my face because I'm getting confused. My head started to sting but I ignored it. Jai looked at me and saw me crying.

"It's you! Your the boy, in my flashbacks" I whispered.

"What?" Jai asked.

"You were my best friend, my boyfriend! You didn't tell me! No one told me, who you were! Now I know" I shout out. "Your the boy, you kept it a secret"

"Ashley, let me explain it to you" He pleads to me.

"Holy shit! I was the girl whose parents paid you to stay away from me. Why? All I'm asking is why?" I said angrily.

"You had an accident and forgot everything in your past! You were lucky to remember your parents but you forgot everything and everyone. Your Mum paid me to stay away because I would only get you in trouble then your mum made you believe you were this person" He explains to me.

My life has been a fake world. My life before was real now I'm living in a fake life. I felt more tears streaming down my face. I started to feel sick, my head was stinging and couldn't stay standing. I sat on the floor and took deep breaths.

"Ash, are you okay?" Jai asked worriedly.

"I don't-"

That's when I vomited everywhere. Jai kept hold of me while I vomited. I couldn't think or see. Next thing I know I'm being carried by Jai somewhere. Sadly, I lost my vision of this world as I fell a sleep.
