I turned around wide eyed to see Lauren just as surprised as I am.

I carefully let go of the knob and looked through the peephole.

It was kind of difficult to see who was outside

But, I could tell that it wasn't the cops.

I quietly sighed in relief.

For a second I thought Lauren had ratted me out.

I didn't want that happening all over again.

So I walked past Lauren, not making a sound, and into the kitchen.

I grabbed a knife from the knife holder and walked up to Lauren.

She looked down at my hand wide eyed, looked me in the eyes, and shook her head pleadingly.

The person outside knocked again, making my body tense up.

"Fine, only if necessary." I whispered.

She gave me a nod and took me to a closet to hide in.

"I'll see who it is." She whispered, shutting the door quietly.

She should have given me that bat of hers.

Consumed by the darkness, I could only hear what was going on beyond this door.

The front door was opened and it was probably only a matter of time before something bad happened.

"Oh sorry for the wait, I was in my room listening to music." I heard Lauren say.

"That's alright, I was wondering if you've met a man by the name of Agustin."

The person was certainly a male.

"Um, no. Why do you ask?"

"Agustin is a very dangerous man on the loose and could be around your neighborhood."

"Why is he so dangerous anyways?"

"Aren't all criminals dangerous?"

The word criminal made me firm my grip on the knife with anger.

Prick.

I'm not a criminal.

He just had to emphasize that word.

"I uh, I don't know. I've never met one."

"Well this particular criminal is very dangerous."

Figlio di un-

Hold on, his voice.

He's not american.

He sounds like me, he has an Italian accent.

"Agustin kills you know."

Oh merda, he found me!

He's trying to make me crack.

But how did he find me?

Wait a fucking minute.

I've never killed anyone!

"But I won't get too into detail."

That's what I thought.

"That's alright." Lauren said.

I have to get us out of here.

But he won't leave!

"You see, I'm the only person that would be able to find him because we were very alike."

Now I'm not going to lie, we used to be really alike, until we grew up into the angry, selfish,, young adults we've turned into.
