"What the hell is wrong with me?" I yelled at myself in frustration.

I then picked Lauren up from off the floor and walked out of the basement and back into the house.

I walked in the front door trying not to bump her onto anything then carefully placed her on the couch.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." I started to mumble repeatedly pacing back and forth.

"Agustin." Lauren coughed. "I'm fine." She said as she clutched her stomach.

"No, you're not fine. I just knocked you off your feet and I hurt you."

"It's okay, I'm still alive." She gave a small smile.

"I hit you really hard and I know it."

"Yeah, I guess you did. No denying that." She said as she sat up.

"But I'm okay." She said grabbing my wrist which caused me to stop pacing back and forth.

"I broke my promise."

"Not on purpose you didn't."

I sighed and sat next to her and leaned my head back as I put my hands to my face.

"I'm sorry." I mumbled.

"I know." She said.

Then in a matter of seconds she was hugging me and made me tense up.

I then took my hands off my face and lifted my head to see if I was hallucinating.

Why is she hugging me?

I almost beat the living daylights out of her.

Women, always so confusing.

"It's a hug, I'm not attacking you." She laughed.

I guess I'm not going crazy.

Must mean she felt me tense up.

So I slowly put my arms down and wrapped one around her.

I loosened up and for some reason, I feel more calm.

"Ugh, why do you keep doing this to me?" I groaned.

"Doing what?" She said confused.

"Make me feel weak."

"I'd like to think that I'm slowly making you a better person." She laughed and I could feel the vibration on my chest.

"Maybe, just maybe." I said quietly.

We sat like this for a couple of minutes.

Then Lauren broke the silence.

"Agustin?" She said.

"Hm?"

"Where's your shirt?"

"Uh, it got hot downstairs." I laughed and she did too but immediately stopped and grabbed onto her stomach.

"Damn, how bad does it hurt?" I said.

"It'll go away, you don't need to worry. I'm a tough girl." She said as she playfully punched my arm.

"I bet you are." I smirked.

"You enjoying the view?" I said.

"W-what?" She laughed.

"I know you've been checking me out, I can feel when someone is staring at me."

"Pssh, no I haven't." She said laughing and I could feel her face heating up against my chest.

"If I were you I would be checking me out too, I have no shame."
