A Stranger on the Hallway

We gazed in each other's eyes accidentally
Beyond the blankness of my mind
Is a history packed inside a memory
Whatever it is, I don't want to rewind

I don't know what the other mind thinks
But I simply want everything forgotten
The moments we had gave us links
Yet after all, I'm not really sure what had happen

Embarrassment creates really awkward silence
A started friendship but left uncontinued
Many create connections with great lenience
However, what I urge is a friendship to be valued

A stranger walking along the hallway
Familiar eyes but everything else unknown
Who are you again? But I can no longer stay
My wrecked radar seems to fear your zone

However, if you take a careful step towards me
And cautiously chase me if I run away
Expressing me well your curiosity
Of what the heart from those moments really say

I warn you, prepare your ears and patience to listen
For my narration would be very long
From beginning, to the end, to the forbidden
I cherish you because you made me strong

Interpretation

You remember that seatmate of yours whom you sometimes talk to when you're getting bored of the teacher? Does he/she still talks to you now? No, right? It's extremely awkward, isn't it?

Those are the simple memories that we subconsciously repress because it overwhelms us, especially with the type of people who value their friends so much. It's overwhelming to value someone who seems so distant, and only communicates very seldom. More likely, we would treat those people as strangers again instead of overwhelming ourselves thinking if they still care about the damn of us or not already.

However, if they could prove to us that they somehow want to continue and develop the friendship, then they should be extremely keen and cautious because the feeling awkwardness might create a grave miscommunication.

The poem could also be related to shy or socially awkward lovers who couldn't practice their romance. Even though they really love each other, they still think of each other as strangers and they constantly try to forget each other.
