Twenty Seven| The New Guy

[Liza's POV]
"Just come to LA, please?"
"Fine, meet me at the airport"
"Deal, get on the next flight"

I hang up the phone call and sigh, David what are you doing?

I open my closet and take out my small suitcase. I pack a few clothes and put my phone in my pocket. 
"Liza..where are you going?" Kai asks as he looks at my suitcase.
"My..ex, my friends and I think hes going to do something stupid"
"That wouldn't be the same guy from the cafe would it?"
"It is. David isn't thinking straight and my friends think its because of me"
"Well, you did only break up with him a week and a half ago"
"He broke up with me"
"Let me come with y-" I cut Kai off as he walks closer to the door.
"No, Kai. Thats not a good idea"
"Why?"
"Do you really think I should go help my ex boyfriend, with my boyfriend?"
"So, he can deal with it" Kai shrugs and I shake my head.
"No. Its fine trust me, I'll be gone for a few days. I'll text you okay?" I look up at him and he sighs.
"Okay" He kisses my forehead and I shut the front door behind me. I get into the uber and look at my phone. 8:38 PM

I get out of the uber and walk into the airport, I feel my phone vibrate. Its Alex.
"Hey, Im getting on the next fight right now" I say and take the ticket off the woman at the desk.
"Okay but.."
"What Alex? Is David okay? Are you okay?" I look up at the lit up sign for my gate number.
"Im okay, its David. Hes back in the apartment but hes not okay. He's blaring music and drinking"
"Then go stop him!"
"You don't think I tried that? He locked his door and he wanted to be left alone"
"I'll be there in an hour, Im boarding now"
"I can't pick you up, incase he does something really stupid"
"Its fine, I'll uber. See you soon" I hung up the phone and find my seat on the plane.

I wake up to the plane landing. I walk off of the plane and collect my suitcase, I call an uber and text Alex.

Liza: Landed, everything okay?
Alex: Nope, the music is still loud.
Liza: I'll be there soon, try to talk to him again please?
Alex: I'll try
I shut off my phone and star out the window, the dim city lights bring back memories.
The first time I met David, at that Vine party a few months ago.. and he listened, he listened to my story.

Do I still love David Dobrik? Did we just need a break? Why did I move on so fast? Kai is a nice guy and all but it just doesn't feel right.

With a million thoughts running through my head, I didnt realise that we had pulled up at the apartment. I shut the car door behind me and walk slowly inside the building. I check my phone and its 11:10 Pm. I walk into the elevator and press 3A, the doors open and I walk down the brightly lit corridor, I look at the numbers on the doors as I walk past 110, 111, 112, 113..114 I knock on the door loudly, I could hear the music clearly.  Alex opens the door with a relived look on his face.
"How long has he had the music like this?" I ask Alex.
"Three hours!" Alex bangs on David's door.
"I want to be alone!" David turns off the music.
"David, Liza's here"
"No she isn't"
"David. I flew out from Houston to make sure you wouldnt do something stupid" Alex and I hear the door unlock. David opens the door, I notice his tear stained face.
"Why would I do something stupid?" David looks at Alex.
"Maybe because you took my car and sent me weird texts?"
"Look Liza, can we please talk?" David looks at me with hope in his eyes. I nod and Alex walks into his room. I look back at David and he pulls me into a hug.
"Liza I just need to ask you something, was the guy at the cafe your new -" David is cut off by the sound of the door breaking open.
"Liza?"
"Kai what are you doing here!?"
"Kai?" David mumbles and his eyes widen.
"Nice to see you too, David" Kai says in a sarcastic tone.
"How do you know each other?" I look at both of them. Something isn't right...
