Faye Dixon
~The Next Day~I reached for the walkie, careful not to wake Clem. "Daryl?" I spoke quietly into the walkie. It was quick to make this underwater creaking nose, signaling a response. "Right here kiddo, where the hell have ya been? Me and Maggie have been going crazy looking for ya." I noticed a very tired Clem stir, and I sighed, no point in being quiet now. "We got trapped in this building, it was surrounded," I looked across from where Clam and I slept and saw only a few stragglers left. "Most of the walkers have left, but I'm worried they are still close. I figured it was best we stayed overnight to give them time to disperse so they aren't all in one big group." There was a pause and then the walkie made the sound again, "Good, way to play it smart, kid. Carl, Rick, and I are on our way, stay put." I laughed, smiling. "You don't even know where we are!" I could practically hear the smile through the walkie as Carl's voice came on. "We'll find you. Got the best tracker in the world."
"I know they're in here somewhere." A voice said, followed by another. "There ain't many other places that those tracks would have led to." I would have recognized that heavy accent anywhere. "Daryl!" I ran and hugged him so hard that I was sure he'd never be able to breathe again! "Watch it! Her leg isn't okay you know! It's infected!" Clem said, warning Daryl. Daryl just sighed and pulled away from me. He picked me up and put me on the edge of the reception counter. He looked at the tear in my jeans and saw the stitches. "Goddamn Faye! You really did it this time, didn't you?" I chuckled and noticed the hard eyes of my close friend, whose eyes seemed to be glued to my head.
"Oh," My eyes dropped, and I laughed nervously. "Your hat. Here." I handed it to Carl, and he gladly took it. "Thanks." He shot me a small smile, and I did back. "Can you walk?" Daryl interrupted, shining the attention back to my wound. "I thi-" I was cut off by the sharp words of Carl. "I got her, Daryl." Daryl shot a nod of appreciation, and Rick took Carl's backpack from him after saying a small hi and ruffling my hair.
"Come on guys. We need to go." Clem said, looking highly annoyed, walkers were starting to pile back up. Carl nodded and pulled me onto his back. "Let's get going." Daryl led us out, with Carl, Clem, and I in the middle, and Rick at the end. "Sorry if I'm heavy." I muttered into Carl's ear. "Not at all." I smiled, and leaned my head on his shoulder, watching in front of us.
"Cuties!" Clem yelled from behind us and Carl and I both laughed and yelled in sync, "Not gonna happen." Clem was quick with the comeback. "Faye wants it to." I snapped my head up, laughing it off. "No, she doesn't!" I shot Clem the 'shut the hell up' eyes, and mouthed 'I fucking hate you'. The girl with pigtails smiled and muttered under her breath, just loudly enough so I could hear it. "Carl and Faye sittin' in a tree.." I rolled my eyes and laughed.
"Y'all better not be doing anything back there!" Daryl called sharply, and this time it was Rick who answered. "We got eyes everywhere Daryl, don't worry."
With those words, we arrived at Alexandria. For once, something didn't go wrong.
