Faye Dixon
I'd rather have you call me yours
"I'd rather have you call me Faye. Just Faye. I don't really have a nickname." I chickened out, putting a hand on the back of my neck. "Where's my dad?" Carl asked, trying to sit up. "I thought you heard everything we talked about." I said smirking. "Whatever. I didn't really pay attention too much." Carl rolled his eye playfully. "He's going to go fight Negan." I shrugged and played with the glove that Negan had given to me a while back. "Without me? What the fuck is wrong with him?" Carl put his head in his hands. "Carl, he said to stay in the house, whatever that means." I smiled to myself and stared at the floor.
"Faye, we have to go to fight. My dad can't go alone!" Carl looked panicked, and he was already sitting up, and trying to get out of bed. "Carl, your dad has help! Daryl, Maggie, Glenn, Clementine, the Hilltop, the Kingdom, and more! They're all helping him. He'll be just fine. We need to worry about yourself right now. You're hurt, Carl."I put a hand on Carl's chest, stopping him from moving. Carl looked at me and then at my hand. He put his hand over mine, pulling it down.
"Faye," He sighed, "I have to help him. Please. I need to keep you safe." His eyes looked into mine as he said this. He never let go of my hand. I looked down at it, my hand becoming covered in sweat. I tried to ignore the burning feeling in my throat."I swore to keep you safe Carl. I won't," I pulled my hand away, placing it on my head. "I can't let you get hurt." I twiddled with my fingers, keeping my eyes glued to the floor. "Then come with me, Faye. Please. We can do this, together. One step at a time. I can't do it without you. You think fast and make everything seem so effortless. You always know what to do and when to do it. I mean, after all, you are my bitch right?" It was Carl's turn to smirk.
"I said that once!" I started to laugh. Gosh, this boy knew how to play a girl. "My dad asked who you belonged to, and you said 'well quite frankly it looks like I'm Carl's bitch' don't forget that I heard just about everything." He smirked, mocking what I had said earlier at the beginning of the conversation. "I ain't nobody's bitch." I scoffed and got my hardened expression back. "Oh, but you are. Come with me, Faye. Or I'll go on my own." I paused, thinking hard about this. Carl was going to go anyways, at least this way I'd be able to keep him out of some sort of danger.
"Okay... Let's go. Just me and you." I nodded and looked down placing my hand on his. The floor, or what I could see of it was tile, but it had some drops of blood from previous operations. My converses that I had worn since about 2 years ago were still dirty as ever. My ripped black skinny jeans were ripped at the knees and, hell my knees were bloody and dirty. I had a few scrapes from me and Carl fighting, but it was nothing major. I mean I'm alive. That counts for something."Look at me, Faye. " Carl took his hand off mine and put it on my cheek, raising my head so I had to look at him. The tears welled up in my eyes before he pulled me into a hug, somehow ignoring his shoulder. "What's wrong Faye?" I mumbled a quick 'nothing'. "Tell me."
"I'm scared." I whispered before breaking down into Carl's arms. I had never been so scared for anyone, not even myself."I'll protect you, baby. I promise." Carl hugged me a bit tighter. Hearing him say he'd protect me made me cry harder. "Come on. Let's go. My dad hasn't left yet." Carl smiled and let me go."Carl, are you sure your okay?" I made sure to maintain eye contact, I wanted him to tell me the truth. "He's okay. Go save us." Dr. Steven said with a weak smile. "Ready to go fight our fight?" Carl smirked at me, holding out his hand. "Let's fight our fight." I took his hand and helped him up.
He called me baby and I liked it...
