Faye

Dwight dropped Carl and me off at these huge gates and I thanked him before getting out. This place was huge! They had walls protecting the biters from getting in. They opened the gate, and Carl and I walked inside. "That vest is your dad's." Carl pointed to the redneck guy. "He's not my dad." I mumbled. Carl shook his head. "His name is Daryl, go give it to him." I sighed and took it off, before walking towards Daryl, Rick, Maggie, and another girl. "I, um, I got your vest back." I said shyly and handed it to the guy. He grumbled out thanks and took it aggressively.

I turned away from the man, and Rick walked out to go talk to Carl. I turned to Maggie and was confronted with a new girl. "I'm Michonne, Rick's girlfriend." I smiled and shook her hand. "I'm Faye, Maggie's little sister." Michonne nodded and pointed at Carl. "He didn't give you too much trouble did he?" I chuckled and shook my head no. "He's not that bad, promise." I jumped when I felt a rough hand land on my shoulder. "We need to talk about that whole Negan deal." It was Daryl, which I knew even before I was faced with the angry man. His accent gave him away very quickly. I nodded and we walked away from the group.

An awkward silence fell between us, some sort of indescribable tension. He stopped walking in front of a small blue house and sat on the stairs. "Sit, kid." He mumbled and I complied. I'd hand it to him, he definitely nailed intimidation. I tried to avoid his eyes and played with my fingers. "Where did he take you to?" Daryl said, and I could feel his eyes burning into my head. "This factory thing." I looked up to meet his identical blue eyes with mine. "He offer ya anything?" I shook my head and said a small yes. "Don't trust him, he twists shit in your mind. He's not the good guy." Daryl shook his head and looked at his boots. "You ever wonder why?" Daryl's head shot up again. "Wonder about him," He shook his head violently. "Fuck no. Go insane within a minute. Don't tell me you think he's good." I shrugged. "He can't be all too bad, right? I mean, he helped me." Daryl pulled out his knife and dug underneath his fingers with it, and just shook his head. "I do that too," I pointed to his knife. "when I'm nervous." I said, embarrassed I'd even said anything. Daryl looked up at me and showed a bit of a smile. "You know what?" I tilted my head to the left to signal to him to go on.

"You really remind me of someone," His voice softened as he continued. "She changed my life man. She was this crazy goofball, I loved her more than life itself. Her eyes could calm me down in a second. She'd do the cutest things so you were forced to fall in love with her even if you were the angriest person in the world. The little lady stole my heart the moment she was born. She, she was just really great." Daryl shook his head as tears filled his eyes. "What happened to her?" I asked sadly. "They took her away, due to my stupid ass brother. He was a druggie, and she got into them one day while I was doing something for my dad. I didn't watch her for one minute," He shook his head, trying to shake away the tears. "One fucking minute and those cops ripped my world away from me." He flipped the knife in his hand. "What was her name?" I questioned, but he just shook his head. "You'd look at me differently if I told ya, you'd call me crazy, and hell maybe I am." I put my hand over his left. "I'd never look at you differently, I'm just not like that." Daryl sighed. "Let me guess, your good at archery and tracking too?" I pulled my hand off Daryl's and laid my head on my knees. "Kinda, I could improve a bit on tracking though." I shrugged. Daryl chuckled, but I could tell it wasn't exactly a good one. "I talked, your turn. Tell me what happened at that sanctuary today."

After a few hours of being with the new group, I got a chance to talk to Carl again. He was sitting outside of his house (I'm assuming) with a little girl. He looked up at me and waved me over to him. I picked up my pace a bit and jogged over to him. "Hey, what's up?" I said and smiled at the little girl. "Sit girl, god you act like I bite." Carl laughed and bounced the girl in his lap. I sat next to him. "This is Judith. She's my little sister." The child giggled as Carl lifted her hand as if she was waving to me. "She's adorable." I laughed and waved back at her. "Yeah, she really is." He looked back at his sister, who laid her head on his chest. "I'm kind of surprised at your group. I mean you all welcomed me with open arms, I'm not used to that." Carl nodded, and Judith took his hat off his head. "My dad's kind of the best, but Daryl and Maggie convinced him it was okay to let you stay and that you weren't working with Negan or anything." "Yeah, I get it," I smiled at Carl who played with his little sister. "You're really good with her." It was Carl's turn to smile. "Thanks, I try, but I should probably go put her to bed, give me a second and I'll be back." I nodded and he went inside.

I looked out at the sun that was just about done setting. It sounds crazy, but I like it at this place. I finally have Maggie back, and I have a somewhat friend. The only bad thing is that I don't know how to feel about Negan. Carl came back out with a small bunch of grapes. "Catch!" He tossed one up, and I fell over but managed to catch it in my mouth. We both laughed hysterically, and I got up. "That was a terrible throw!" I said, pretending to be discussed. "Oh really? I'd like to see you try!" He handed me the bunch and I pulled one off of it. I threw it up, but it went about two feet behind him. "Now, that is what I call a terrible throw!" We laughed and I put my hands up in defense. "Have you ever looked at the stars?" Carl pointed to the sky, and I shook my head no. "You're kidding! Come on!" Carl grabbed my hand and pulled me down his stairs to his lawn. "Lay down, it's still early so you might not be able to see them as easily, but if you look they're there." I nodded and we laid down, looking up at the stars. "That's the big dipper." Carl pointed to a bunch of faint stars, but I didn't see it. "It just looks like stars." Carl sighed and shook his head, "Maybe stars aren't for you. How about math? Were you ever good at it, before all this?"

We stayed out on his lawn and talked for what felt like minutes but before I knew it Michonne opened the door and told Carl it was about time he came inside and went to sleep. Carl waved to me, along with Michonne. "Good night, Faye."
