This get-together was supposed to have reignited you and Jeremy's friendship, but instead, it just ignited feelings between you and him. Strong, one sided feelings.

Wagh!! He probably wasn't even gay!

You suddenly became hyperaware of every movement Jeremy made. the soft rising and falling of his chest and shoulders every time he took a breath; his eyelashes fluttering for a moment whenever he blinked. you straightened your posture in attempt to rid yourself of the butterflies in your stomach. Jeremy adjusted himself, and he was no longer leaning against you. No! come back!

you returned your attention to the movie in the attempt to forget all about jeemy right next to you and ignore the feelings that had just arisen.

wait, what had happened? what did you miss? you had no idea what was going on in the movie.

before you knew it, the movie ended and the credits started to roll. You had gotten lost halfway through, thinking about Jeremy. No matter.

Jeremy yawned and stretched, arching his back, which gave a satisfying crack. he ran his fingers through his hair and turned to you with a lovable smile. You returned it. what else could you do?

"um... that... that was nice." he stammered. you agreed.

he sighed and looked off to the side. "i'm glad we could do this." he smiled, a little sadly. "I can tell-- I know how bad... you... feel... about, um, ignoring me?"

you nodded, with guilty look.

"though, I don't-- I don't-- I don't think it's me you should worry about making it up to. i know Fritz was pretty pissed." he started to giggle a little. "haha! sorryy... it's just-- Fritz likes you so much. It's funny, really, how much-- how much he cares."

you reclined a little, thinking it over. Like? As in love? Or... just in a friendly way? did you want it to be in the love way?

oh no... you couldn't believe it. Were you seriously in love with Fritz, too? Jesus Christ, Y/N.

you almost felt like you were betraying Jeremy, (and to an extent, Vincent,) by liking someone else as well. even if you two weren't even dating in the first place. (Maybe that would change one day though.)

You remembered how angry Fritz sounded on your phone call earlier that day, and you decided you would try to apologize to him, too.

After a few minutes of idle chatter, Jeremy bid you goodbye. he told you he had things to do. Perhaps he just wanted you the hell out of his house.

At home you gave your ginger friend another call. you were concerned he might not pick up, if he was still mad, but he did.

Sorry, you said. For ignoring him, and everything else. you made up with Jeremy, you told him. And, about vincent, maybe Fritz was in the right to tell you he "told you so." But you just felt fritz was being overbearing. you're your own person, and you want to make your own decisions and discover things for yourself, even if some of the choices may not have been "the smartest thing." You two had barley known each other for a week, for god's sake. Why did he care so much? but then, you learned, you told him. Jeremy-- (no, you couldn't throw him under the bus.) You just put the pieces together. Fritz did it because he cared for you, and it didn't really matter if you had only known each other for a week, or a day, or an hour. Maybe it wasn't executed perfectly but it was the thought that counted! You knew. you knew the Fritz liked you, a lot, be it friendly or more serious. Either way, it didn't matter, because you liked him too. (You didn't specify in what way.)

There was a long silence from the other end. was he still there? maybe your speech came on a little too strongly.

"Um..." you could practically feel the heat radiating from him through the phone. "Wow. Okay. Jesus. ... Look, yeah. I guess you could say I 'like' you, or something. Sure. ...You know, you're right, I guess. i acted poorly because I didn't want you to get hurt by that FUCKING SCUMBAG and, well, ...bah! There's not really any point in all this blather, huh?" there was a long pause.

"Yeah. I like you, and might even go as far to say I 'like-like' you, even if saying that makes me sound like some sorta 5th grader. And... even though you're a...guy." he sighed in to the phone. "So.. so.. what do you think?"

He awaited your response in silence.

Hell yeah, you like-liked him, even if you did sound like some sorta 5th grader. And even though he was a guy.

Fritz forced a breathy laugh. "R... righteous..."

You didn't know what kind of reply he was expecting. how could you say you didn't?

So... did this mean he wasn't upset at you anymore?

"of course it means we're fine now, airhead."

The next day, on monday, you decided to visit where the new location of the pizzeria would be. It would be opening on Wednesday, and you needed to know where to go apply for a job. you drove down the street, steering wheel in one hand and flyer with the address on the other. when you arrived you looked up through the windshield. The building wasn't too shabby. There was still no sign up yet, and the windows were covered from the inside with black tarps. Many a trucks stood outside the building, assumably transporting things from the old place. A couple more days of renovating would make the place turn in to the good old pizzeria everybody knew and loved. Well, that most people knew and loved.

You were a little sad knowing that Fritz wouldn't be working in the Freddy Fazbears chain anymore, meaning you wouldn't get to see him at work anymore, but you knew he hated that "fucken' hellhole of a job" and so you supposed it was for the best.

On Wednesday you would go with Jeremy to apply for a job, and hopefully, it would be less deadly than the previous.
