Stupid Wattpad Ish

Unrealistic and Realistic (Teen)Fiction/Romance etc

That is a category we need.

Why you ask. Well because these authors need to chill with the ish they publish.

It's a book that clearly imitates reality where normal things are happening like going to school or not having supernatural powers etc

BUT then some weird ish happens where the kid gets kidnapped and beaten up by some bully or hater then is dropped back home and there is nothing done about it.

Or

Some boys dare their best friend to go kidnap any girl and he ACTUALLY goes through with it. (When I was a newbie I actually read a book like this and it wasn't a fan fic [heard fan fics were big on this])And the weird thing is that no one is looking for the girl.

"Sam darling have you seen Alissa?" Linda asks her husband who is currently watching t.v.

"Who?"

"Our daughter, honey." She clarifies setting her husband's refreshments on the coffee table.

"No." He says completely immersed in the television.

"She's been gone for 42 days now," Linda sighs, "oh well."

She sits to watch television with her husband.

Popularity and The Wattys

There are like these cliche badly written books (like the plot follows 321678434 of the books on here with 1 or 2 differences)(I'm currently reading a book like this because I'm legit running out of good books to read) that have 2 million reads

Then there are books that have a really good storyline with excellent plot twists and are overall bomb with 500 reads

But since I've been on here for a while I understand that new wattpaders are partially the reason for so many reads on these cliché novels because let's face it, when we were newbies we all were going GAGA for these books.

The Watty Award is also given to these books and then I put them in my library after being deceived by the beautiful cover and description and also wattpad's judgment of what they deem a must read and an out of this world novel by placing that damn sticker on the cover.

Thank you so much for wasting my time.

The New Look

If you've been on wattpad for a while then you would know that they have a new look. They updated the app so much that I feel like a grandma learning about smartphones.

I have two phones. One a little bit older than the other. The older one(does not have a front camera*GASP*) I use for wattpad/ebooks and the new one I use for social media etc. So I had the old version on my old phone for a long time and then the phone suddenly couldn't identify the app and I have to use my new phone to get back wattpad since the older one wasn't really working well and the new layout on discovery had me feeling like 90.

And then there's this:

Everytime you open that little message box icon thingy the first thing that it loads is NEWS FEED before this new version you had to manually go into it if you were interested but now you're forced to do so. And frankly, I don't need my friends (the ones irl) stalking me seeing who I followed and what I comment (i legit did this to a friend) Its okay sometimes when you are seeing what your fav author is up to like

Hmmmmmm I see you voting and commenting on that book but where dat update tho???????

But to think your friends can do this to you scares me.

Unreal Authors

You want me to vote and comment but cant answer 2 questions when I PM you. I see you voting$%%#!!!!

I know u have 7 million ppl in your inbox but goshhhhhhhhh (happened when I was a newbie)

I bet you've seen (or something along the lines of):

Please, can we get this chapter to 146854 votes? When we reach the goal I'll update.

Because she/he says 'please' I'll vote and make another account and vote again so we can get an update quicker.

Like heck I'm doing that.

Not because you have 1.5K reads now means that you should abuse your popularity to force votes out of ppl. If I think this specific chapter doesn't deserve a vote for my own reasons then I won't.

Plus there are some people who only get 10 votes with 700 reads and they're pretty happy with whatever. Because they're writing for the sake of enjoying what they do and they like creating content. They don't write to get forced votes so they can make the 'what's hot' list.

Ghost Readers

Why is every author hating on ghost readers. Like ishhhhhh lay off.

Everybody is like

OMG I SWEAR I HATE GHOST READERS JSJSUEQWQW4WYWOHSV
>:((((((( (<<because i understand the struggles of having an old phone and for a box to appear when emojis are used)

Calm yourself, man.

Suppose I just don't want to vote or comment because I'm being exposed in the NEWS FEED section.

Suppose I'm over here reading interracial stuff and I don't want Tessa (my bff) to know because I live in a bigot trash small town in nowhere and I don't need the whole trash town to hate me.

Suppose I just don't want to vote [fight me iluvflwrs25]

I understand that you need to support the authors seeing that they are doing this for free in their own time with ppl all up in the comment section saying UPDATE U *%$#! I won't vote till you update!!!!

But that doesn't mean you should hate me because I'm proud to say I'm a GHOST READER.

And the reason I am is because sometimes I'm too caught up in the book to vote and I skip A/Ns unless they say IMPORTANT or something of the sort because y'all up in there blabbing and frankly this is a COMPLETED book so I don't need to hear how u were caught up in skl/work.

I guess when I actually have books and 75% of my readers are ghost I will ACTUALLY understand but for now THIS IS MY OPINION.

Yours can be left in the comment section. If you are an author who hates ghost readers please explain why you all hate them.
