Kyla's P.O.V.

I had never been to a penthouse before and to say that I was amazed was an understatement. The view was beautiful and the layout of the house was well layed out to perfection. It probably cost more than everthing I owned. Come to think of it scratch that it cost more than everything I could ever dream of owning. It would take me a lifetime to work my ass off to afford a place like this. The moment I arrived the receptionist handed me the keys to the penthouse and directed me to the floor after asking for my id.

I could tell that the penthouse belonged to a man by looking at the choice of furnitire and the dark shade colour of the wall. At the far end of the living room there was a small bar enough to accomodate a couple of friends. It was filled with almost all kinds of drinks from whiskeys to vodka to cocktails. You name it. Everything in the room spelled class and money. Curiosity took the better part of me and I went down the hall looking around but dared not to enter any of the rooms. The receptionist had informed me that the owner was not in yet and so I walked around freely for the time being as I searched through my contacts for Mrs.Alyssa's number.

As always she was brief and straight to the point and mentioned that she knew nothing about the person I would be working for. She received the call a few hours after I left the agency and the woman who called sounded a bit desperate and was going on a vacation and needed someone to help around at her son's place.

That was how I ended up at this place. I thanked her again and told her that I would do my best to keep the job. The last thing I wanted was to let her down as she went out of her way and helped me get a good job.

The room was such a mess and I had to start cleaning up as soon as possible. I was all nervous afraid of been kicked out by whoever owned the place since he had not directly asked for my services at all and so I had to make a good first impression if I wanted to keep this job. I limited myself to the living room and the kitchen cleaning around and arranging things that were out of place. It was already 9pm by the time I was done and he whose name is not known had not yet given a thought about coming home.

No wonder he needed a babysitter. I mean it is not like I was one but that was what it sure as sounded like to me. There was hardly anything to cook in the fridge nor in the cabinets.

I grabbed my purse and headed to a grocery store I had spotted a few blocks away on my way here. I got the necessary ingredients to prepare beef chuck roast and some vegetables. You could never go wrong with chuck roast . I also picked some bacon, cheese and sourdough bread for sandwiches which I would prepare tonight if there was still enough time after I was done preparing dinner . There was definitely need to restock but that would have to wait till tomorrow or later so as to avoid late night trips to the store.
