Kyla's P.O.V

I was on my way to campus when Mrs.Alyssa called with the worst news possible .Fate had to be playing a joke on me. Just when I thought things were finally working out for me the landlord had to kick me out of my house as I had not been paying rent on time.

Seems like everyone's patience on me was running thin. Mrs. Alyssa had a hard time convincing the landlord not to kick me out but it was all in vain. Thank God for that one good soul in my life. I still owed the landlord some money and there was not much she could really do.

I made my way back to the house just to find an almost empty house. No furniture. No nothing. He had confiscated most of my property. What was seriously becoming of my life?

Scattered all over the place were some pictures of me and Mel and some of me,my dad,little brother and my mum. That was back when we were one big happy family. My books wera also all over the place but my clothes were still intact in my closet . Mrs. Alyssa was kind enough to lend me some boxes as some stuff could not fit in my suitcase and I packed the little things that I had left.

"You know you could always stay at my place for a while before you figure something out,"Mrs. Alyssa said as she helped me carry the boxes out.

"Mrs. Alyssa we both know that is not possible. I've already caused some tension between you and your husband and the last time it did not end pretty well. Don't worry I have something up my sleeve."

Well I really wish I did. Mrs. Alyssa's husband was an animal no offense and I still could not forget what happened the last time I was at Mrs. Alyssa's apartment. She was out to get some groceries as I cleaned up and the old man had tried to put his hands on me. Well ofcourse I had to defend myself and I ended up slashing his elbow open. There was so much blood when he was rushed to the hospital and he had the nerves to say I was trying to kill him. Luckily Mrs. Alyssa believed me and not him.

I left my stuff at Mrs.Alyssa's place saying I would pick them up later.

"Don't worry honey take as long as you want."

I thought of talking to Melanie but then I did not want to worry her. I was done been people's charity case. I would figure things out and get myself a place soon enough.

I was not up for going to school today but then again I had already missed to many classes. I could not afford to miss more and the drive to make my pa proud was still there. He will always be my motivation and my source of strength .
