6 days after Akko's first flight on her broom...

Akko, Lotte, and Sucy were sitting in the magic history classroom. While the history professor was giving her lecture, Lotte was taking her notes, Sucy was dealing with her mushrooms experiment, and Akko was listening attentively!?

Atsuko Kagari listening to a lecture attentively? It seemed unlikely. However, after the missile incident, Ms. Kagari became more focus on her classes. She vowed to become a brilliant witch and live up to her name.

The professor gave lectures, "...the witch Morrigan gave birth to a healthy son. She felt a great power within him, a great power beyond her imagination..."

Lotte glanced at Akko who was staring at the blackboard. She smiled. Seeing Akko paying attention to the class made her happy. She turned her attention to the professor when she called out to the students, "Why did the witch Morrigan decided to lock away her son in the White Tower? Ms. Kagari since you were paying so much attention, would you please share us an answer."

Most of the students in the room turned their attention to Akko. There were silence. "Ms. Kagari?" the professor asked her, again.

Akko remained silence. "Akko..," Lotte called her silently. "Huh? What?" Akko spoke up and looked around her room. The students started to chuckled.

"Ms. Kagari! Let me asked, again. Why did the witch Morrigan decided to lock away her son in the White Tower?" the professor repeated.

"What a tosser. She really saved the world?" Lotte overheard some girls gossip. "Stupid. I bet it was Diana who did everything."

"Oh," Akko responded, "umm.. right! Morrigan feared that her son will become a powerful wizard and defeat her in the future."

The professor and the students were dumbfounded. Atsuko Kagari actually answered a question correctly?

Not wanting to feel embarassed, the professor cleared her throat and said, "You're correct... for one part. However, Morrigan confined her son mainly because she wanted to control him and his power."

"Ah I see," Akko said, scratching her head. She then proceed to write down on her notepad. The students gossip more about Akko, which made Lotte feel uneasy. Sucy paid no attention to them.

The professor proceed with the lecture, "Morrigan succeeded in confining her son's magical power and used it for her evil deeds. There were no clear evidence of what they actually did, but it was speculated that they were partly responsible for the Black Plague in 1340s..."

Akko yawned while looking at the professor. Lotte wasn't sure anymore if she was really paying attention or just spacing out.

"...in 1360s, there was no sign of her nor her son. No one know how or when they disappeared. The only thing we know today is that Morrigan's son, Kazer, was the last known wizard recorded."

Akko raised her hand. "Yes, Ms. Kagari?" the professor answered. Akko stood up from her chair and questioned, "So, there are no wizards today?"

The students beside Lotte, Sucy, and Diana laughed at her. It was a common knowledge that even little kids know: wizards are extinct.

"No, there are no wizards today," the professor answered with a serious face. "How come?" Akko asked, confused.

The bell rang, and the students started to pack their things.

"We will cover that in the next lecture. Remember, there will be a quiz on Monday. Dismiss!" the professor declared, and the students disperse from the classroom.
