Holiday Break (Part 1)

Through the field of tall grass there stand a little girl with short, dark brown hair. She was wearing a pink one piece dress. Soft breeze washed through the meadow, creating waves of ocean grass and slightly lifted her dress. She saw a sliver of light glowing from afar. She followed.

Wait for me

Her voice echoed. She ran.

She caught the light and slowly opened her hands. Hundreds of butterfly flew out from her palms. They were all in many different colours. Sparkles were everywhere as the beautiful creatures flew higher and higher.. until they can not be seen anymore.

Whoa

"Follow me," said an unknown voice from nowhere...

Wait a minute... Has this happened before?

"Yes," the voice replied, "Please follow me."

The little girl lifted her feet and suddenly, she was flying. She flew higher into the sky. She flew higher into the clouds. She flew higher towards the moon, and the moon was shining with brilliant lights. Her crimson eyes lit up as they reflect with the illuminating moon light.

Hello?

Someone slowly approached the little girl. As he got closer, she saw him, a little boy around her age. She could tell that he had dark hair, but his face was not clear. He seemed very familiar to her but she could not recall when and how.

"Hello," said the boy.

Have I met you before?

The boy smiled and said, "Maybe or maybe not. There is no need to know. What matters is the present. The past matters not."

I don't understand what you're saying.

The boy looked down, "You don't need to. Not now. Maybe someday, you will. Alas, I must take my leave..." He turned away.

Will I meet you again?

He turned back and smiled.

The alarm ranged loudly when the clock hit 6:40 o'clock. Atsuko Kagari squirmed in her bed in annoyance of the loud noice next to her ears. She reached her arms and smashed the metal object to stop its rings. She turned her body to the opposite side and continued to snooze.

"Now, what's the point of the alarm clock if you don't wake up to it," said her roommate named Sucy.

"Akko has been working really hard these past few days," said her other roommate, Lotte.

"Aren't we all?" Sucy approached the sleeping beauty and stood directly above her. She snickered, "If you don't wake up now, you will have to eat this. Ku ku ku."

Akko's eyes shot wide opened, and she jumped up from her bed in a very quick motion. She ran to the nearest mirror and opened her mouth to look for anything suspicious.

"She was awake all along," said Sucy. Akko turned to her and narrowed her eyes, "Not funny, Sucy!"

"Akko. Sucy. The lecture will start in a minute now. If we're late, we'll have to work longer, again." Lotte said with worry. Akko discarded her anger from Sucy and complied with Lotte. She quickly cleaned her face and dressed up in her school uniform before following her friends out of the room.

At the lecture hall, Akko and several other students were sitting at their desks. Everybody looked very tired and bored. Miss Saviour, especially, looked very pissed. Professor Finnelan was giving a really long lecture about the school rules and the morals of witches. This was a detention. The Little Witch knew that she did not deserves this.
