Friends (Part 2)

Night time at Akko's, Lotte's, and Sucy's room...

Akko was sitting on her bed, studying... or was she? Sucy observed that she had been on the same page for more than 10 minutes. Even Sucy was bothered by the stuff that other witches said about her. Despite saving the world an all, they still treated Akko like crap.. maybe even worse than before. Normally, Akko would yell back and defend herself when people say means things to her. Akko was not the kind of person who would allow anyone to talk her down. There was definitely something wrong with her.

Knock. Knock.

"Akko, go get the door," Sucy said in her boring tone. Akko's eyes widen, and she walked up to the door. She opened the door and there was Diana. She had the usual cold expression on her face.

Diana sighed and said, "A message from Andrew... again." She handed a letter to Akko, "You seriously need to get a messenger owl of your own. I'll have you know that I will not perform this favour every time!"

"Thank you, Diana.. for this and earlier today," said Akko with a soft smile, "and I'm sorry."

"You don't have to be sorry for anything, Akko," Diana calmly responded, and she left.

Akko shut the door behind her and walked back to her bed. She sat down and opened the letter.

"What your boyfriend wanted this time?" Sucy teased.

"Sucy!!" Lotte snapped at her.

Akko silently read the content of the letter to herself.

"..."

10 minutes passed..

"..."

"What is it, Akko. You've been staring at that letter for a while now," Lotte asked, curious.

Without a word, Akko tossed the letter on the desk and flopped on her bed, face front on the pillow. Sucy picked up the letter and read it.

Dear Ms. Atsuko Kagari,

Earl Hanbridge is hosting a party to celebrate the witches of Luna Nova for the victory over the missile incident. You and your companions, Lotte Yanson and Sucy Manbavaran are invited to join us for the event. The event will take place at the Hanbridge manor this Saturday 21:00 o'clock. We encouraged you and your companions to arrive an hour before the time of the event. Formal dress code is mandatory. We hope to see you this evening.

"You shouldn't read other people's personal letter, Sucy!" Lotte scolded.

"Didn't you asked her earlier?" Sucy countered, "Anyway, this is for us, too. The rich boy invited us to a party at his house."

"What? Let me see," Lotte snatched the letter from Sucy and read it, I wonder if Frank will be there too... wait why would I care about this!?

"Weird. Akko should be excited about some thing like this," Sucy commented as she glanced at the girl on the bed.

"Akko..," Lotte said, worried, "maybe I should get Professor Ur- um.. Chariot."

Akko jumped up and yelled, "NO, NOT CHARIOT!!!" And startled her two friends, "The party, right? Yeah we should totally go!"

Sucy and Lotte stared at each other, confused and worried, but they remained quiet. "Tomorrow is Saturday isn't it?" Akko scurried to her dresser and looked through her clothes, "Ahh, I don't have a dress! We should find some dresses! But I'm skint... Ughh!!!"

Sucy and Lotte shrugged. They were glad that Akko is finally back to her normal self. Although, they were still a bit worried about her behavior earlier. They wanted to ask her about it, but she kept on ignoring their questions. They couldn't help but to hope that her friend will be okay. The two friends agreed to keep an eye on Akko in case something were to go wrong...

"OH RIGHT!!" Akko exclaimed, grabbing attentions of her friends, "Lotte, Sucy.. none of you happen to have fancy dresses, right?"

The two girls shook their head.

"Let's go ask Diana, shall we? I'm sure she has plenty!" she announced.

Akko got up and walked out the door. "Right now?" Lotte asked and followed her. Sucy followed behind shortly.

Knock. Knock.

Hannah in her PJ swung the door open. She looked surprise when she saw Akko and her teammates in front of her room.

"Uhh.. can I help you?" she asked nicely, and Akko quickly asked, "Can we come in?"

Hannah looked behind her shoulder when Diana called out from her quarter, "Let them in." Hannah moved out of the way and allowed the three girls inside the room. Barbara put down her book, Night Fall, when she saw them.

Diana appeared from behind the bookshelves and asked the girls, "What could you possibly need at this hour?"

"Ehe.. I'm sure you got invited to Andrew's party, too right?" Akko said while scratching her head, "The thing is we don't have any fancy dresses, and we were hoping you could lend us some of yours since we are friends now..." The owners of the room stared at Akko.

"...Right? ...please?" Akko ended the sentence.

Diana closed her eyes and sighed, "Well, none of my outfit would fit any of you..."

Akko pouted her lips and looked down on the floor. "At least you tried," Sucy said.

Diana glanced at Akko with one eyes and sighed again, "But we are going shopping tomorrow morning because we need new dresses, too. You are welcome to join us if you wish."

Akko's eyes beamed. She looked up. "Really!?" she sparkled, "That's great Diana... but I don't have much money, though..." She looked down, again.

Barbara smiled and said, "Don't worry. If you come with us, you will get discounts!"

"That's right! That's why we have so many cute clothes!" Hannah beamed, "It's all thanks to Diana's connectio- Ouch!!" Barbara elbowed Hannah hard.

"Thank you very much, Diana!" Lotte said politely, "What time should we meet up with you?"

"Please meet us at the Leylines Terminal at 8:00 o'clock," she replied, "on the dot."

"EIGHT!?!" shouted Akko, "That's too early!"

"If you arrive any later, you will not find us there."

"Ugh," Akko whined, "Fine! We'll see you then!" She walked out of the room, followed by Sucy, "Good night, Diana! Hannah! Barbara!"

"Good night Akko, Lotte, Sucy!" Hannah and Barbara called in unison. "Good night," said Diana.

Lotte said good night back before she left to join her roommates.

Akko and her teammates went back to their room to get ready for bedtime. Tomorrow will be quite interesting, she thought.

Author's Note:
I am back home from Vegas yesterday morning! I was going to upload the new chapter then, but I got really tired. I'm going to the campus this week since the new semester is starting. I'll be a bit busy and will get even busier until Spring Break. I'll try to upload weekly from now on until midterm (which possibly will reduce to biweekly or longer). Please be patient with me if I suddenly disappeared for weeks. I am a full-time university student, and finishing school with high GPA is my priority.
