Disappointment rests on my shoulders
Cradling me,
Soothing my racking body
As Hope glides down my face
In the form of tears.Fist clench, eyes shut
Disappointment whispers in my ear
"Lose Hope darling,
It's always going to happen to you."
"She," Disappointment sneers,
"Has no place when you have me"Hope begs and pleads
To not forget about her,
To not replace her for Disappointment
But with glazed eyes
I shun her.Disappointment leads me back into her arms.
Silky midnight blue hair enfolds me.
Before I'm surrounded, I glance back
And Hope has vanished
