This is what happens
When you care too much.
You give yourself all
To someone who doesn't deserve it.
Putting others before yourself
Clearly you're in the back of the line
You've never had a chance.
Yet we continue to do the same
Hoping for a little change
It's the same old shit every day.
Constant poetry on the
Things that hurt us
Yet it is us that gives the power,
It is us who gives the key away
As we willingly climb inside the room
No air, no space, no place for movement.
They console through the door
Hushing our cries for freedom
Indulging in the power we've given them
We cannot complain
We wanted to go in
We're used to believing it was us
They were perfect
They never did wrong
That ideology is what kills us.
