Today I woke up at 6 am,
An hour before my alarm smashed its jumbled scream into my ear.

I woke up to find
Remnants of my dream
Paving its way down my cheeks.
Invisible, ice, cold hands make my throat contract,
Pushing down against my chest,
Filling me with with a heaviness that I can never forget.
Haphazardly I sprawl my body on my bed
As I question whether I should sleep again
Thinking nothing else besides -

The frozen hands don't leave
As I fight against sleep,
Yet it overcomes and takes me
Dragging me into the deepest part of the sea
Where no one can find me.
