I ran my fingers though my thick long brown chocolate hair as I watched everyone behind the counter talk and enjoy their time. I scanned the whole building and noticed something different about today.
Everyone was filled with happiness and joy, and me? I was impatient and filled with sadness. Every time the door made a 'ding' noise, my heart would immediately jump off of my chest and I would loose it.
I guess I was too distracted and I obviously wasn't in the good state of mind right now. I have too much on my mind and work isn't the best option for me right now.
I was lost away in my thoughts when I heard someone clear their throat, I immediately peered my head up from the counter and noticed a tall figure standing right in front of me.
It took me a second to realize who it was, Shawn. Great just the person I was expecting to see.
"Sorry, what can I get you?" I questioned and waited for a response but didn't receive one. Instead, I received a weird stare from him.
"Are you gonna order or what?" I questioned once again and he just nodded his head.
"Can I have a hot chocolate and a muffin?" He finally answered which I nodded and wrote that down on my note pad.
Once I finished his order, I grabbed a small bag to go and placed the muffin inside before grabbing his hot chocolate and started walking back to the counter.
"That would be $6.99. Is that all?" I questioned and he nodded his head. I placed his order on the counter and patiently waited for him to pay.
He then paid me and I took the money from him and placed it in the cash register.
"Thank you have a great day" I sarcastically said and Shawn just stood there staring at me.
"Can you fucking stop staring at me? You already got your order, so can you leave already?" I questioned and Shawn shaked his head before speaking.
"No, I came here to talk" Shawn answered back, causing me to roll my eyes.
"I have nothing to say to you" I fired back and Shawn just sat down on the seat right on the other side of the counter.
"Please." Shawn begged, while his eyes teared up.
"No, I'm sorry Shawn but you have to leave" I said softly.
"I'm not gonna let this go. I'll see you after your shift is over" Shawn said before grabbing his things and leaving.
Who does he think he is? Does he seriously think he can just show up to my work and expect for me to talk to him?
The audacity.
;
"Hey! Im here to start my shift!" I heard a soft voice say behind me, which I immediately recognized who it was, Scott.
"Hey, thank god. I really gotta get home" I said and took off my apron and handed it to him.
"No problem, but hey, i'm sorry to hear about your mom" Scott softly said and I closed my eyes to try and fight the tears that were already coming down my eyes to stop. I blinked a few times and they were all gone, not today Camila, you can't cry.
