MATT'S POV:
It had been 20 minutes since I had given Allison the key to our room and she still hadn't come back. It shouldn't have taken this long for her to grab her phone because it had been sitting next to the tv. I was beginning to worry. I turned to Cameron, who was sitting next to me while we waited to be called on stage.

"I'm going to go check on Allison."

Cameron looked at me. "I heard what Nash said to her. Everyone on the bus did. Apparently she hasn't talked to Claire and ignores all texts and calls from anyone on my bus."

"I know. Claire and Nash made her cry. She feels like her best friend betrayed her. I can't exactly blame her for not wanting to talk to them. But that's not why I'm worried."

Cam looked at me, confused. "Then why are you going to go check on her?"

"She left her phone up in our room and so she asked me for the room key to go get it. She knew exactly where it was and she isn't back and she's nit picking up her phone. But she left 20 minutes ago and I can't help but worry that something's wrong."

"Dude, go. I'll cover for you."

I shot Cam a grateful smile before leaving the room. I was walking through the hallways when I heard screaming. Someone was screaming for help, and I couldn't help but think that the voice was vaguely familiar. I decided that Allison could wait for a few minutes.

I rushed to where the screaming was coming from, knowing someone was in danger. I just hoped I wasn't too late. A few of the other boys were following behind me, but not as fast. The screaming got louder and I heard pounding on a door. I looked around for something, anything to help me open the door. I saw that some girl had dropped a bobby pin nearby on the ground and used it to pick the lock. I opened the door to find a guy about my age beating a girl.

"Hey! Stop!" I called.

The guy looked over at me and the girl looked up as well. Even though her face was bloody and tear-stained, I could still recognize the girl. It was Allison. I don't know why, but something inside of me just snapped. The guy was back to kicking her. I tried to step in front of her, but he shoved me out of his way. I knew I couldn't do this by myself, so I yelled for the boys. I went and put myself in front of Allison again, refusing to let the guy move me, taking some hits for her. Cameron and Carter came and together, grabbed the guy and restrained him. They proceeded to pull him out of the room, leaving me alone with Allison. I turned around and took a look at her. I couldn't exactly tell the extent of her injuries or where they were located because he entire face was smeared with blood as well as parts of her arms and legs. I realized something in that moment. No matter how much I tried to push away the good thoughts I had about her, I realized that I liked her. I didn't care if she was covered in blood, she was still one of the most beautiful girl I had ever seen, and seeing her broken like this killed me. I wrapped my arms around her, hugging her while she sobbed into my shirt. After letting her cry for about five minutes, I decided that I needed to get her injuries taken care of.

"Hey," I said softly. "Let's get you back up to our room and get you cleaned up. Do you still have our room key?"

She didn't answer, but wordlessly handed me the room key. I didn't want any of her injuries to get worse, so I picked her up bridal style and carried to the elevator, and then to our room. I set her on the counter in our bathroom and went and grabbed a towel, wetting it in the sink. I carefully wiped away all of the blood, finally able to see the injuries better. Some of the skin was already starting to bruise, and she had a cut on her right arm, right calf, and a small one on her forehead. I called for a first aid kit and one arrived a few minutes later. I used some gauze and wrapped it around the cuts on her arm and leg. I then placed a bigger band aid on the cut in her forehead. After that, I grabbed her some running shorts and a T-shirt from her bag and left the bathroom to let her change. Once she opened the door, I rushed over and picked her up again and carefully placed her on the bed we shared.
