CLIARE'S POV:

After hearing what happened to Als yesterday, I wanted to go and see her. I mean, she was my best friend. But, since the incident, Matt had become extremely protective of her. First, he said that I couldn't visit her because she was sleeping still and she needed her rest. Then, he said that I couldn't visit even when she woke up, because he didn't know how she would be feeling or acting. Then he said the words that pierced my heart.

"Plus, you hurt her. I'm sorry, but I don't want her to have to deal with more issues than she needs to. Don't you think she has enough to deal with right now?"

I was mad. Matt gets to see my best friend, but I can't? What makes him so special? Sure, I owe him for saving her life, but I met her first! Plus, he said to let her come to me. But after what happened yesterday, and knowing that Als could hold grudges like no one else, I knew that I would need to go to her. She was forgiving once you apologized and talked things out, but you had to make the first move. But I wasn't allowed to visit her yet. I resorted to texting Als, letting her know I was there for her, even if she didn't want to see me. I kept checking my phone every five minutes, and eventually Nash got impatient.

"Why do you keep checking? It's obvious that the bitch just wants attention. Don't give it to her."

"What the hell, Nash? She was kidnapped and beaten yesterday! She isn't searching for attention, but it's obvious that you are! Even if she doesn't want me as a best friend anymore after everything that YOU said about her, she'll always be my best friend and I'll always be there for her. You're a jackass and can go to hell!" I screamed.

I stormed out of the room with tears in my eyes and no destination in mind. Not watching where I was going, I ended up running into something, or someone. I looked up to see Shawn staring down at me, looking concerned.

ALLISON'S POV:

I woke up, taking in my surroundings. I was sore and noticed I had cuts and bruises all over. I chalked it up to me running into something. I tried to get up, but there was something weighted holding me down. That was when I noticed that the weight holding me down was someone's arm wrapped around my waist. I looked over and saw Matt sleeping peacefully, so of course I screamed.

"Matt! What are we doing in the same bed?!"

I had yelled, waking Matt suddenly, causing him to fall off the bed. If I hadn't been so freaked out and shocked, I probably would've found the sight funny. Matt looked at me, obviously confused and still half-asleep. "What do you mean? We-wait. Do you remember anything about yesterday?"

Yesterday. What did happen yesterday? I mean, obviously something happened, but what? I honestly had no clue. I decided to take a guess. "Didn't we just hang out here, at the hotel all day?"

I grabbed for my phone. Matt noticed and tried to grab it before me, but he was too late. I unlocked it, noticing I had tons of messages from all if the guys and Claire, asking about my well-being. I looked up at Matt, extremely confused.

Matt shook his head, telling me my guess had been wrong. He looked sad, almost pained. He stood up and looked down at me. "None of it?"

I shook my head.

He sighed. "Okay. Well I guess I'll tell you. But you can't be mad at me. Do you want to hear the ending or the beginning first?"

I just stared at him. What the hell kind of question is that? Who wants to hear the end of a story before the beginning? What's the point of hearing or reading the story if you already know how it ends? "Hmmm...let me think here. The beginning of the day. Duh!"

Matt took a deep breath. "So I was just chilling out in the hotel room waiting until it was time to meet up for the first Magcon event. I was about to go down to the lobby when you walked in from the hallway. Something was wrong so I asked you what was up. You started crying, telling me that Nash had yelled at you and that Claire and Nash said you were a terrible friend. So I texted Bart, telling him we were going to be a little late to the meet and greet. After you got done crying, we were walking down to where the convention was being held when you remembered you left your phone in the room. You asked for the key and I gave it to you. Remember anything now?"
