Donnie's POV

(About a month later)

So G has been coming down to the lair for a couple weeks now. I told the guys about her and they wanted to meet her, so that happened. She knows about us being mutants and everything, and she's totally cool with all of it. The girls, Dan, Ed, and Casey don't really seem to like her, but they're kinda warming up to her again. Except for Ed. He tries to avoid her as much as possible, and when she tries to talk to him he gets all uncomfortable and tries to get out of the conversation. I don't understand why, none of them will tell me.

I've also been reading more of Lily's journal and realizing that she was telling the truth when she said she was depressed. Some of the pages had blood on them, I'm guessing from her cutting, she'd told me she used to do that. And there were some pages that I just couldn't bear to finish reading because I never would've thought that my sweet little princess would've been in so much pain that she would write anything like what was written in that little book.

Right now, I was in my lab, still trying to figure out what I was going to do for her birthday present. I just couldn't think, and it was coming up. It was late May now, almost June, and I still had nothing. I sighed as I leaned back in my chair. I decided to turn on some music. I reached over to the little speaker, and was just about to turn it on when someone opened the door.

"Hi Donnie! Whacha up to?" I heard G's voice. I smiled and turned around

"Hey G, just tryin' to figure out what I'm gonna do for Lily's birthday. Every year I make her a present but I don't know what to do for this year.." I said, "What's up with you?"

"Oh you know, nothin' much really. Just chillin'." She shrugged. I nodded as she came up and sat on my desk, "Is there any way I could help?" She asked

I shrugged

"I don't know, do you know of anything Lily would like? That wouldn't be bought from a store." I said. She sat for a minute, staring at my desk

"Hmmmmm....." She mumbled, "Well, I know she liked Sea Turtles, and she likes music, and her favorite color was purple, but you probably already knew all that." She chuckled. I chuckled back and nodded.

"Yeah." I said

"Welllll....." She said, "Um, I don't know, maybe you could make some kind of like doll or something? I don't know, I'm not much good with ideas, but I mean, I know Lily would like a date or something better than an actual item, but I mean, that'd be kinda hard, I don't know..... I'm sorry, I want to help, but I mean, I'm not the smartest..." She said. I waved her off

"Nah, it's fine, the doll is kind of a cute idea, I might do that if I can't think of anything better." I said. She nodded and we sat in silence for a minute.

"Hey, Don?" She asked.

"Hmm?"

"I was just wondering if you were looking for anyone else right now?" She asked. I thought for a minute and shrugged

"I don't know, not really. But I mean, if there was somebody decent that I found interesting too then I might try a relationship with them, just to see if it would work out or not." I said, dropping a couple of hints.

Okay, yes, I admit, I kinda maybe a tiny little bit liked her, but hey! She was pretty and pretty funny and stuff. I mean, no, she's not a genius, but she's nice enough, and I've been talking to her about some of my problems. I've been trying to drop a few hints but she doesn't seem to pick 'em up. I don't know if anyone else knows I like her. She nodded

"I see, hey, completely unrelated topic, but, do you think I'm pretty?" She asked. I stared at her for a minute. Was she dropping hints too? Or was she just asking?
