Donnie's POV
(About a week later)
G and I were sitting on the couch together, watching Beauty and the Beast, only because G wanted to watch. She was cuddling up to me, her head resting on my plastron. SO far, our relationship had been working out pretty well. I'd been reading more of Lily's journal. I found out the G and Ed had dated at one point. I felt a little awkward, and kinda bad, about dating Ed's ex girlfriend, but I didn't think that was what he was trying to signal me when we started dating. It seemed like a kind of warning about her, but after being with her for a few days, I found it impossible that she could ever do anything bad. I wanted to talk to Ed about it, but I hadn't had much time lately. I had been working on a doll for Lily since I had literally no other ideas, and I was also spending time with G and everything, so I just never really got the chance to talk to him one on one. So my plan was to find him after me and G's date today and we could talk. The movie was almost over, so I was gonna get to talk to him soon. I hoped it would go over well with him. And her. G had been kinda protective of me. Like, she didn't like me talking to Ed too much, and whenever I would start a conversation or get in one with one of the girls, or even just talk to them at all, or if they got to close, she would try to pull me away a little. I was fine with it, though it did get a little annoying sometimes, mainly when I was trying to have a serious conversation with one of them. I sighed and readjusted my position, causing her to readjust hers.
"Sorry." I said.
"No, no, it's okay Don, I was getting a little uncomfortable too." She said. I smiled a little, holding her a little tighter and resting my head on hers.
We watched the movie for a little while longer, and then the credits started rolling. I yawned and we both sat up straight and started to stretch out a little.
"That was fun Donnie" She smiled. I smiled back and nodded.
"So what do you want to do now?" She asked
"Well, actually, I kinda wanted to talk to Ed for a,little bit." I said. She gave me a confused/suspicious look.
"Why....?" She asked. I shrugged
"I haven't talked to him one-on-one in a while." I said
"Aw, but Donnie, wouldn't you rather spend more time with me?" She asked, giving me her sad puppy face. Usually I fall for that face but this time I seriously wanted to talk to Ed, and I wasn't gonna let her break me so easily. I sat up straight and gave her a stern face.
"Listen, baby, I love you, and I would love to spend time with you. But we already spend a ton of time together."
"But Donnie-"
"No G, we just spent a few hours together, I want to talk to Ed right now, okay? I said, trying to reason with her a little. She huffed
"All you ever do is work on the silly doll for Lily though! You don't actually spend that all much time with me! And now you're gonna go prance around with Ed?!" She whined. Okay, I gotta admit, the part about the doll kinda hurt, but she was just being annoying.
"Candance." I said sternly
"Hey! I don't-"
"I don't car if you don't like it. I like your name, a, and b, I spend pleanty of time with you, the doll is not silly, and I will not be 'prancing around' with Ed, we will be having a serious conversation, and I'm gonna talk to him." I said
"D-"
"Don't even Candance. Just don't. You know, I have a life outside of you, I can't devote my entire life and all my time to you. If I could, I totally would, but I have friends and a family and I'm gonna interact with them." I said. She sighed and shook her head a little
